BT: Aligning bill and rental periods

Good Morning,
I have just received my BT Bill (which I pay quarterly) and noticed the quarterly rental is £14.45 higher. Under the heading, 'Aligning bill and rental periods', the bill also has the following word for word:
'Your current bill and rental period dates are different. This charge, for rental up to this bill date, will bring them in line in future. For detail see leaflet or call 0800 345 7306'.
Does anyone have more information on this?
Regards
Earl

Hi ayers - I have moved your thread to the phones etc board where I think you will get a better response

They have just slightly changed how they bill you your rental.
On your future bills, it will go back to charging you your standard quarterly/monthly rental. If saved £2710 and only spent the interest (Based on a return of 5%), you would have enough money to pay your TV Licence every year. Saving you £7452.50 over a period of 55 years, based on you buying a license from the age of 20 until your 75 at a cost of £135.50.0 -
But will they give back the money they took upfront?? If not, it doesn't sound fair to me :mad:0
-
they will not charge for the period already billed0

My 1 month by dd line rental went up to nearly £16 this month.
Seems to me an easy way for BT to get an extra fiver off everyone really. Not impressed at all.0 -

But what about the extra we paid this month. We'll never see it again, and in the meantime BT get loads of extra money.
(I suppose the month we leave BT we'll "sort of " get it back, but I think this charge (without any warning either ) is totally out of order.0 -
Bear in mind too that, unless you've opted for paperless billing, they've added £1.25 a month to the rental. Of course they don't actually mention that on the bill.Stompa0
