Do you stick them to the door? What is it that makes them light up? They sound great, just cant understand how they work!

    thanks
The light sticks to the side just inside the door.
You stick a magnet on the door so that it just touches the light when the door closes.
The light comes on as you open the door.
There's also a switch on the light so you can turn it off.

Before you stick them try different locations so you can find the best spot.

We've put one in the airing cupboard and another under the stairs.
The LED lights are not dazzling! But it's enough to see what you're doing.
There are 3 little battery cells to provide power - the sort you get about 30 on a sheet at Poundland. I guess they run down if you leave the door open for ages - but we're very good :D
  • They do pregnancy testing kits 3 in a pack for £1. Great if you keep checking evey month when trying.
I agree check the use by dates some are really short. Should not be out of date even at a £1.
Baby toys bits a bargin too. Same teether in woolies £4.

  • The other thing about these shops is that they're prepared to take less margin than the multiples, passing the savings on. Yey for Pound shops!

I rarely buy anything from the pound shop, not because I am a snob, but because I am not sure about the authenticity of whats being sold. So many times I read or hear about stuff thats being made as an imitation and sold on in markets and bargain stores, I don't mean like fairy being called daisy or pantene being paneleven, I mean like colgate being sold as genuine colgate but with added bleach, and in a box/tube just like the real thing. Apparently there are ways to find out- like batch numbers or codes on the boxes, but I never remember these!

I tend to stick to stuff thats less invasive like packaging for stuff on ebay- when they do sell it (my £ shop stopped selling them so I am back to woolworths which is a shame as I live near to woolwich and lewisham in London which are both MEGA pound shop towns where the vast majority of stores are sales/bargain shops or pound stores.)

Does anyone else not worry about the same thing?

I find the kitchenware stuff quiet handy..not always the best quality but does the job just as well. cooking sauces sometimes you get these uncle benz sauces 2 for a pound..also large jars of pickles/olives..oh and i have a budding 4 year old artist and you do stock up on colouring books crayons etc
My brother likes to get£1 cd packs..I stock up of paracetmols, antihistamine tabs and lemsips for the winters..all usually for packs for a £1 but you are not allowed to buy more than 4. The other day I got hot water bottles from lloyds chemist for £3.99 and like for like i say it for a £1 in pund shop..could have got 4 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What not to buy..well I find that for eg the bleach (cleaning items) is much cheaper in tescos..I get tescos value for 30p !! and hey bleach is bleach and so the disifectant much cheaper in tescos.
  • My top Poundland tip is for campers, anglers, DIYers and more.. The 5 Led Cap Light which clips under the brim of a baseball cap. Batteries will last for absolutely ages (it comes with them), it's very bright and immensely useful.

The weak point is the clips that hold it on, but unless you sit on it in your back pocket (doh) you should be fine - if not, buy another!

The price of an almost identical product in my local fishing tackle shop? £10!!
What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots
  • I bought 2 key ring tapemeasures which I thought were £1 each and the girl told me I could have another as they were in fact 3 for £1 (really great for keeping in your handbag when shopping).

  • I bought a USB Hub adapter, well i actually bought 10 of them, and sold them on e-bay £2 - £4.........what a profit!! Went back and they had sold out, my motto, computer gadgets are to buy if you are going to sell on e-bay. Also bought some Winnie the pooh prints all four for the £1.......seen in Argos for £8.99!!!!
Thanks for reading! Come on ARSENAL!!!
