In our local pound shop you can get 3 plastic ice cube trays for the £1. My wife uses them for baby food in weaning portions. You can buy Anna Karmel containers which do the same job - for around £10 each.0

My daughter owns a £1 shop in Wales and she loves it :T
She does a lot of business and the best bit is the bus stop is right out side her shop:j

my daugter had her digital camera case stolen on holiday in the summer (camera was in her bag luckily), I spotted a case in poundland, Solihull.
my daughter was thrilled as she had priced up different cases and seen this one in a Currys for £14.99!!
bargain and got the award for best mom that day!!0 -
Found in Poundland (I think) was an offer of 2 men's spray deodorants for £1. They had one by Boxfresh and it smells gorgeous (and expensive!) so worth a look.0

A lot of the purfume is fake as are many of the tools which are made from soft steel so don't cut, don't screw screws etc.
That is not to say all is fake, just Caveat Emptor as when buying ANYTHING.0 -
is it me?
if something immediately breaks/tears after you buy it or is out of date (when you're not expecting it;)) i will still take it back, even if it only cost £1.0 -
I wish I'd not read this thread. I've looked on Poundland's website and their nearest store to me is a good 35-40 minutes drive away, so probably not worth the time/petrol. It's not a town I'd normally visit for shopping anyway, so it would have to be a special trip.
I'm very jealous, cos there are some excellent bargains listed on this thread. I'm especially gutted about the automatic lights for inside cupboard - I'd only said to my husband last weekend I thought I'd seen some on QVC that I wanted to get, but thought they were a bit pricey!0 -
I never know what to get my Dad and Step Mum, or step sisters 5 children, so from the £1 shop I get a large christmas bag and for my dad and step mum I get things like spectacle cases & cleaning sets, shower gel (usually Johnsons or Pamolive), computer bits eg. a mouse mat & duster, a tin of biscuits, some chocolates, maybe some smelly candles. For the children, before now I've managed to get Bob the Builder board books, Dora the Explorar/ Spiderman and Diego sticker books, a huge range of art supplies, sing a long cds, Muppet babies learning games for the pc, selection boxes and novelty sweets. So its a full bag of goodies for £10, for parents or a group of nephews and nieces, which they love because its stuff they need and will use.
Its worth going in your £1 shop whenever out just to check whats in stock, it changes weekly, in the past I've also bought playstation 2 controllers and memory cards, keyboards, pc games, flexable bakeware, make it yourself christmas cards so I printed out a picture of my baby (on photo paper from the £1 shop) and gave to all the relatives.
I could go on forever, so lastly 99p shops tend to have a better range, especially the Southend Branch

I'm a regular £shopper too - buy things for the girls' christmas stockings all year (things don't hang around long). Another good thing is their children's socks in a pack of 3 - there are different brands and some of them don't look so good, but there are some on a yellow card with spots on and they are brilliant, and the girls find them easy to put on themselves, unlike some other socks. I always buy some when they have them in.
Will have to let you know what the bulbs are like when they, hopefully, flower in the spring! Bought a bag of 20 dwarf tulip bulbs for the first time....mind you, I should probably plant them, that will help!0
