Great 'What to Buy in Pound Shops' Hunt. What should and shouldn't you grab?

Soothing headache strips (stick them to your head to get rid of headaches) x4 - usually about £3 a pack

Heating IBS stomach pads (like a mini hot water bottle) - usually over £6 in Sainsburys

Padded envelopes - Cd size you get 8 for £1 or A4 size 6 for £1. These are normally 70p or £1 respectively each

Great halloween stuff at the moment too

I buy jiffy bags all different sizes much cheaper than the post office or stationers, hubby's razor blades cannot think of the brand at the moment usually cost £3.99. Wicker baskets for hamper gifts would normally cost £1.99 - £2.49 in other shops. agree regarding the dog toys also the treats and snacks for pets. Last week there was a lot of Disney stuff for boys and girls ideal for xmas stockings.

washing powder, books, dvds, art supplies, crisps. Just got to know what costs more that a £1 before you buy it in there.

grab the 2 for a pound deals....colgate toothpaste, cadburys luxuary cookies etc.
the other stuff ie deep heat, big bags of crisps..usually at least a couple quid, herbal essence shampoo...1.99 elsewere, even got my theory test in pc format 2008-2009 version for a pound!
so mainly toiletries expensive in supermarkets and two for ones and treats for the kids...all the top brand stuff...oh yes an a big jar of nescaffe lol

You can usually get a 100 Tetley or Typhoo teabags for a quid/99p too. Tea at a penny a cup can't be bad.

personally soap, toothpaste and superglue (a card of 12)

£1 shops can be good for 'specialist' cooking gadgets for the disabled

(e.g. a cooking basket (if you have arthritis, to lift out vegis without picking up the pot and water too) is £1 here and £12 at a specialist disability shop);
non slip matting can be used under dishes (eating one handed)...
a bit of lateral thinking sometimes needed.

Brilliant - literally! - and only 50p each

I went into my poundland store for the first time ever last week....wow. Going to stop in there first before hitting any other shops from now on.

Manged to get christmas gift bags, really nice size with a chalk attached and a mini type of chalkboard on the front. Had seen them 4 days earlier in a large garden franchise for £2.99 each, but as much I liked them, I did'nt want to spend the £9.00 to get three.

Also a lovely snowman shaped bottle holder/gift box thingy, not sure if I'll part with him though...

Same here, I had in mine a purse, keys and two bottles of water, we went to London for the day and I wanted something light and easy to carry.

Within a couple of hours it was frying at the seams just like you said.
