Well done everyone sounds like you are doing well, not been able to read everything I have a little monster that does not want to go to bed.

I hope that I can cut back when I have to go shopping, I am trying to get a plan of action into my head.
 Wins in 09 = A vodka cocktail kit thing lol, £150 Amazon voucher.
  • Just got in from work via Mr S just in case there were any closing time offers - only cherry scones!
I now have £3.18 (out of £160) left until 1st Dec. Hmm. Am now really regretting buying the two for £7 Quality Streets in Mr A earlier in the month (she says chomping on them for dessert). I can muster up at least three meals without any problem and then will have to get very inventive (unless I am on my own and then I can count half a pack of Boursin and half a baguette as a meal)

    Sparkly

Hello all, my month has ended and unfortunately have overspent £260.05 against a budget of £230. However, my freezer is full , and I mainly overspent on yellow stickered items as I don't usually see them. Can I be counted in for next month again at £230 must try harder! though this coming one isn't an easy one as my Mum is coming to stay on 17th and of course will be getting extra "bits" for Christmas Good luck everyone!!!
    I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!
  • Hi All

Sorry I haven't been on for a while. I have been in bed suffering from flu. Definetly gone over my £180 budget this month and i can't tell how much as I haven't kept track for the last week or so. I guesstimate that its around £30 over.

I've gotten loads of inspiration just being back on the OS forum and will get myself back on track. Pay day is on 25th so I start from then again. I am away from home on a course next week and don't know if I'll have access to the internet so I'd like to put myself down for £180 for december - I know its a little early but I want to make sure I'm focussed!!

    Thanks

I'd like to declare on £196.88 I'm very pleased with this as I did a big online shop last Friday (half the month's budget) and think we've enough food to last at least another 2 weeks (i've a mealplan for the next 2+ weeks) with only a few top ups needed. It has also included a few bottles of wine & beer ;)

I'm going to reduce my target to £175 for 'December' (21st Nov-21st Dec)

Spent €17.61 in Dunnes the other day and can't help feeling that there is a receipt somewhere I can't find, I do know that OH spent quite a bit this month, but they were things like T bones and corned beef joint and shop bread that he wanted so I don't feel responsible for paying for them...that's the deal and so far he hasn't complained!

Good luck to everybody, think that I'm ok so far ( with a little bit of help from OH!)

  • Just spent £6 on f & v (inc chestnuts and cranberrys) and £2.50 in Mr M on saus meat & hoisin sauce (half price :D) I have decided to make sausagemeat/chestnut stuffing for Xmas, freeze in balls and its easy cook on Xmas day, not sure whether to freeze it raw or part cooked......any ideas? Also I am making cranberry sauce (when I have saved 2 jars ;) ) and need to dig out my recipe for that as I am not sure if I used port or sherry last time!
Just going to need nappies and wipes soon so I might do a Boots online shop to stop me ordering loads of groceries I don't need LOL, plus then I can get a few last pressies in the 3 for 2 promo!
    Have a good weekend all
