Fay, hope you get the tax disc sorted out, what a pain

Yorkshire belle, how awful, such a shame when you have set that well earned money aside for something else. Some people do some awful things.

sophiesmum, hope you weren't too late for work!!

    Good morning everyone :hello:

It's lovely and sunny but chilly, so I have my ski socks on! - not that I've ever been skiing!

Seem to be going for some sort of record on the cold front, I've used andan's massage techniques and that helps a little, but I've still got a cold! oh well, could be worse...

Ouch Fay, will you be able to get a replacement from the post office?

Today I must sort out a new deal on contents insurance and phone old broker to tell them their offering is rubbish!

    Other than that I will
    • do the ironing
    • make a loaf or rolls, haven't decided
    • get petrol
    • make storecupboard meals
    • nick things off andan's list to make me look industrious :D

    Morning!

At least it was light for dog walking this morning - a better start to the day than normal.
I budgeted £100 for the weekend away we've just had but came back with almost £40 intact:j that's this weeks spending money now (and hopefully next weekends as I'm not going out)

    Today I have/will.....
    • brought lunch to work
    • will make soup and dumplings for tea from stuff in the fridge (yummy!)
    • checked banks/cc/quidco
    • done a couple of surveys
    • sorted out budget for next 2 weeks
    • will do a food plan for this week (already done this but it will need rejigging now) and next week
    • sort out washing/ironing this evening
    • look for a few Xmas pressies online to see how much I should be budgeting and possibly order a few of the small ones
    • put 2 cheques in the bank on the way home
That's all for today - nothing earthshatteringly exciting I'm afraid.

Yorkshire belle, that's terrible, what a horrid thing to do to your car, completely unnecessary. It's a real downer when you have to pay an unnecessary, unexpected expense.

Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
    :money:Sleeves up folks.:money:
  • Thanks to everyone for their kind thoughts. Surprisingly the forensics team have just visited - but don't think there is anything useful to pick up! Am waiting for the repair people to ring to see if they have the right type of glass/window.
Good job I am on leave this week so can stay at home. Shame I am bound to the house though - DS's are starting to get restless and need to get out soon!
    Nil carborundum etc etc
    Getting there...slowly! :D

    GC : must do better
    NSD: very rare

No matter how slow I go I am lapping everyone on the couch.

Morning All :hello: (only just ;) )
Well DS1 has moved out of one place, into another, and has (as usual  ) deposited his excess baggage with us. So full is his room that last night he chose to sleep in DS2's room :p But because of that we have acquired Dolby Surround Sound for the Freecycle TV we have :j and a freeview box :j On the other hand, he's destroyed my NSD, because of a major muck up he needed a financial rescue, and to stay for the week. I hope this can be sorted in time for me to get tax disc at the end of the month though.

As for the rest. Today I have/will:
    • contact aged p's to reschedule our visit as DS1 will need a lift next Sunday
    • brought in lunch.
    • will have to rethink food this week as now have a man to feed :D (unless he scuttles off to his gf.....:( )
    • will do my spreadsheets tonight to work out finances.
Anyone got any advice for a quandary in which I find myself? I've recently done a MS for a Gym, and thoroughly enjoyed it, though it was a bit of a schlepp to the place. Now my colleague has found a real bargain membership of a local gym with an extra special offer if two join at the same time......do I join or not???? Will I keep it up? (I used to) Will I resent not clearing my debts whilst paying £30 a month?..... Have I turned into Scrooge? :o

    Great idea. :D
Add "make a list", "Eat Chocolate" and "sparkle" and the list begins to resemble Andans (in length if not in application) :D :rotfl:
