As stated in my earlier post for fifteen months it would be 6.44%.
if thats the case then as Sloughflint says they are misadvertising - its not 6.5% AER0 -
I did try a 15k on the debit card which was rejected, so split it between a transfer and a card.BiggaThanBen wrote: »That's for bank transfers ..
It is not clear if this limit applies to debit card payments ..0 -

YBS have definitely made a mistake with their advertising here. If investment made on 30/11 that gives an AER of 6.465% ( Apreciar, it's 365 +31+31 days;))
For anyone wanting to know what the AER is depending upon when they opened the account, they should calculate this:
[(0.065/365 * n) +1]^(365/n) -1
where n is the number of days the account is open
For example, 15 months from 1st November (457 days) gives 6.448%0 -
YBS have definitely made a mistake with their advertising here.
have written to YBS, will report back0 -
Slightly off topic but could one of the maths experts tell me what the interest would be NET on the Halifax 3 month fixed rate Websaver paying 7.00% AER on £23k0

depends which months - but around £3140

Wouldn`t three months just be 13 weeks from the day you put the dosh in?
Or is there a certain time to apply?

Sorry to disagree Sloughflint, what I said was from the 30th November not the first. This is what YBS advertise, so I stand by my calculation. However I do respect you and your calculations.sloughflint wrote: »YBS have definitely made a mistake with their advertising here. But it's to the end of JanuarySorry to disagree Sloughflint, what I said was from the 30th November not the first. This is what YBS advertise, so I stand by my calculation. However I do respect you and your calculations.
edit:
I think I see where the confusion is. At the end of my post,I did give an example of 1/11 due to 15 months being in the title.....
.... however it was the beginning of my post where I made the tongue in cheek comment to you specifically re possibly missing out 31 days in January ( I believe).
I made the AER 6.465% and you made it 6.482% for 30/11/08 to 31/01/10
[STRIKE]I wonder if by chance YBS have just rounded up the AER 6.465% to 6.5%?
Plausible.
Except anything after 3rd November ( 6.4501)could at a push be rounded to 6.5% so who knows what they've done.[/STRIKE]
Scrap that idea. They quote two decimal places. Nope, they've just plain messed up.0
