good rate for a reasonable period, (monthly income) interest rates are obviously going to reduce maybe by the time this ebond matures rates might just be back on the increase.
what do you think?

Signed up today. The problem is that the interest on the monthly option is not paid back into the account so the aer will not be 6.5% on that option.
However , with rates expected to fall not a bad call.Change is here to stay0 -
One of the easiest to open and fund - not sure it'll escape "The Panic of Troosers" though as it matures a few months before the election. However, I don't think the rest of the world will fall for "Bank of Engerland" rates so you may be able to get a decent 6 month rate Feb 2010 to carry you through to the debt-hits-the-fan rate hikes late 2010.0

I personally think it's a good deal, with a good company, so I've opened one recently. Rates can only go down at the moment.0

When do they start paying interest with DD payments?0

I have an account with monmouthshire BS where I pay in by DD monthly. Below is an extract from their T&Cs. However, despite taking 4 days to clear, Monmouthshire pays interest from date the money is credited to the account..Paying in by Direct Debitwithdrawal terms of your account
3.6 Direct Debits are treated in a similar way to cheques.
On the credit date or shortly thereafter we credit the
payment to your account and request the payment
from the paying bank. However the paying bank can
'refuse' to make the payment and we debit your
account for the appropriate amount. If this happens the
Direct Debit will appear as a payment into and a
withdrawal from your account. For this reason, Direct
Debits take four banking days to 'clear'. You will be
able to withdraw the amount of the Direct Debit on the
sixth banking day (including the day you pay in and
the day you withdraw) following credit subject to the
