Hi easy & somebody_else I can't get a loan, blacklisted from here to kingdom come!!!! I would only be able to get hire purchase through motability and that won't be enough. The other big issue is as I found out, with having a large family, if you have an accident with a seven seater, the loan car you get is usually a toyota Yaris or Nissan Micra. No room for my wheelchair or the kids. With motability I get a seven seater. That aloan is worth a lot.

I was going to make a thread on this and here it is! I love the search facility.

Now a question, I have really problems driving because of the seat height and the gear changes mean that my back and neck start hurting. I'm thinking of changing to an auto, but they only seem to come in huge engine sizes. Is there a decent auto around that is about a 1.2?

    TIA x

Thanks Colin to be honest I keep on hearing that which is why I came here to ask. I just won't be able to afford the upkeep of a huge engine... But I can't drive more than 20 minutes in a manual without my back and neck seizing up.

We recently changed our car to a Renault Modus. Test drove a Grande Modus but didn't need the extra space. Nice car, adjustable height driver's seat, lots of niceties. We had the 1.2 Dynamique and none of their 1.2s are automatic. They do a 1.6 automatic you could check out. Our dealer is also a Nissan dealer and the Nissan Note has a 1.6 automatic too, but we didn't look at that.

We waited 3 months for a Volvo C30 sports !! Haven't seen any others here yet .
  • I have a vauxhall astra hatchback and can't wait for it to go back in a way. I like how it handles and drives, but it is to low for me if I'm being the passenger, guzzles petrol and I have trouble with the gear stick when my hands are playing up with arthritis and its not very friendly for a short person driving. It does have driver seat height adjustment and the wheel can move but I'm just that much shorter and it can be annoying sometimes.

Guapa, small automaticvs are garbage and wil drive you mad. Our last volvo (not motability) was a 2.4 and totally gorgeous , and so comfortable you could sit there all day with even a very bad back.
