Sunday 26/10/08 What small dfw things have you done today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Today I will:
  • Clicks
  • check online banking
  • storecupboard lunch and tea
  • make a loaf in breadmaker
  • go for swim and jacuzzi - been once:D
  • sort out pressies I didn't do yesterday
  • make more flapjacks:rolleyes:
  • clean flat with stardrops and microfibre cloths
Hi everyone:D major panic this morning as my internet connection was down:eek:  up and running again now but a bit slow:confused: , already been to gym for my swim, jacuzzi, sauna and shower - so feeling very clean:rotfl: :rotfl:
Have a good day everyone - catch up with you all later
Reduce,re-use, recycle.

    Good morning all :)

    Today I have/will:

    Check internet banking
    Do any online polls
    Have a NSD
Make all meals from the store cupboards
Sit around in snuggly jumper rather than put heating on
Take dogs for a long walk while it is dry for free exercise
File the huge mound of papers that have grown on my desk
And chill with a deserved glass of wine later as I have worked 69 hours this week & now have a week off. :)

    Have a great Sunday boys & girls. x x

Was just about to post this as i couldn't see it anywhere, was having a panic too!! I've had a fairly busy morning but off to slow down for the rest of the day as i want to watch some programmes on youtube!!

    Today i have/will do:
-I have sorted out and come up with next steps in advertising for my business
-Wrote down all the shops nearby that i am going to try and put posters up in
-I have done another load of washing and got it hung up around the house drying
-I used the free comfort samples i had been sent
-Have looked at more courses to do that may expand my business
-I have sorted out all presents stored under the stairs, to see whose i have got and have sorted out and packed them up ready for going to visit my family next week. I even had spare xmas cards and paper left over, so will take them all with me, to do when i am up there.
-I have been on website and read up for more business advice and ideas
-I have placed an order with vista print for more stuff for my business
-Have sorted out all receipts and put in relevant envelopes so i have them all securely stored.

My plans for the rest of the day are:
    -Make meals from storecupboard
-Foreign student coming later, so will mean we get extra money from tonight
-Will relist vouchers on ebay as ebay seem to have taken them off!!
    -Work through emails
    -Do any surveys i receive

    -Check freebie section for freebies
    -List business on ebay classifieds
-Send message to an aquaintance regarding having a pamper party, may be able to entice her to throw one!!
-Watch some programmes via youtube, so in some ways free!
    -Will check out freecycle
-Will work on my case studies
    -Upload shop and scanner
    -Work on nvq homework
-Keep heating off for as long as possible
    -Pay partner rent money
-Count up change that i am going to keep for my business, but transfer the same amount from my bank account into my savings account

-Do the pile of ironing i keep promising to do!!
-Try and buy trainers from ebay
-Look for more pre blended oils

Think thats it for me today, as am going to have a fairly relaxed day. Speak to you all later.

Very impressive, going to the gym early on a Sunday morning, Sophiesmum!

I am tightening the belt for this month, I have paid back the repairs on the car and paid off the saddle, but it leaves no money to play with this month at all. So fingers crossed nothing else breaks. To this end I've gone through the store cupboard and started using things up, a fruit cake is cooking right now :D

Still feeling a bit under the weather, so will take it easy today. I shall carry on finding the best deal on contents insurance, that's due on the first, but budgeted for. Obviously will go and sort out horse friend in a while, not sure if I'm up to riding him yet, we shall see!

Won £10 on the lottery last night :jWill put it against the debt later!

    Pop back later

  • Bit of a rant here, but I'm phoning up to cancel two extra Oasis tickets I got - the friends who said, "I'll go - get me a ticket" have both since said, "I've changed my mind" so I'm going on my own and will phone to getthe £103 back in my account. Both said, "Stick them on ebay and double your money................" like it was all ok. Besides, the reason it has taken me over a decade to get tickets to see them is precisely because of people who buy more than they need to make a quick buck out of it. Not something I would do. I've seriuosly learnt my lesson with some people - do not trust them.

    Checked piggy;
    Done a few comps;
Been to Morrisons and bought laods of own brand stuff
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

I'm not surprised you're ranting, well deserved, if you ask me! Why do people assume it's not a problem to just drop out. I think they should still pay for the tickets, as they had asked you to get them in the first place! Let them make the "quick buck", if there is such a thing, on ebay:mad:

Still, I really hope you enjoy seeing Oasis, you've waited a year, you enjoy every minute. When are you going?

I know the feeling!! My friend runs a womens group and this was always happening to her, people would say they wanted tickets to things and then decide after the tickets were bought that they didn't want to do it. The same happened for my birthday when we went to a comedy club, i have decided that i wont do it in future, i'll leave it up to people to sort it out for themselves. Hope you get it all sorted and get your money back.
