Hi. I work for a charitable organisation who help young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness or are socially isolated etc.
As part of my job I help young people apply for CCG.
It is my understanding that these grants are to help people who have had an unsettled period of life (like being homeless) have no means to buy essential household equipment etc.
It is only paid if you are in reciept of income support as some of my young people were on incapacity and did not qualify.
Often full amounts or essential items are not met, but I would advise anyone who thinks thery may be eligible to go along to a welfare rights clinic, at their local council offices and have them help you fill it in, as often the correct terms and jargon need to be used. to get the full amounts
Hope this helps a wee bit. x:jI Can resist everything, except Temptation x:o0
