There is no Archos AV700 with 60GB, you must mean the Archos AV560 with 60GB.

Ok so which is a better the deal the one from currys? - AV560 (60gig) for £279
or the one from argos AV700 (30gig) for £299

Anyone have a compared spec sheet or review of both? which is better to get?

i don't know a lot about the difference, but i think the av700 is a much larger machine. not possible to fit in the pocket. it's a 40 gig from argos for £299.

Remember it retails elsewhere for £375 so hardly cheap!

Stop posting different models on here please, i'm getting confused :snow_laug I would be tempted by that one at Empire but the battery life is a worry.

Anyway, just emailed Currys to ask about the delivery situation. I did order from the Dixons website a while back, after 2 weeks there was no sign of my order so cancelled and got the item next day elsewhere. I said then I would touch that group again but....

Heres hoping we all get our orders quickly or I might be tempted to jump ship to the Argos AV700 instead.

This is my first post on the forum so hi.

Anyway, I had a NHJ-MPM202 from Empire Direct arrive today, I also have a Archos AV560 from Currys that I bought a week or so ago.
I purchased the NHJ-MPM202 to see if it was actually any good before I opened my Archos, the idea being that if it was I would put the Archos on Ebay and keep the cheaper option. I have been playing with it for a few hours now and I must say I am well impressed.. recording from the tv is an absolute doddle and you can even move the recordings on to a SD card and play them on a PDA (with the right player software).
As for build quality .. I cannot imagine the archos (which is still sealed) being this good and it's double the price .. the NHJ-MPM202 does all I want (and more) so the Archos is going on Ebay.

BTW, for some reason Currys sent me 2 AV560's but so far have only charged for one !!!
