It sounds to me like they haven't provided you with the lenses that you thought you had paid for?
There is a way of finding out what material index was used to make the lens. The curves of the lens relative to the thickness and prescription will reveal what material was used (1.6; 1.67 etc.) ASDA still provides these at no extra charge if your prescription need it AND they are local and tangible.

HKB33, you've made 22 posts in 6 years and every single one of them has been praising SPAMMY Blue. Jeez even the Tesco and Asda shills post about something else occasionally.

Thanks for that Coopdivi. I heard about the said company on this forum, me and my family have been using them for over 6 years now as you stated, the last time I commented would have been a year ago or so when I did them for my Dad again I think. My Dad is too ill to comment here and he's chuffed that he's saved money again. I got the discount code from their facebook site and wanted to pass this on. I don't use forums as a rule because people like you make mis-informed comments, that puts into question honest reviews by others, plus I don't have all day to trawl around assessing the validity of others comments. It's a shame as comments like yours stop the very people, they want to encourage, from using the forum. 2 comments today will be enough for me as opposed to the 6 pointless ones you've posted already today.

It does look a tad suspicious if a person posts comments about just one company over a protracted period. And, you do seem uncannily familiar in those posts with all of the company's promotions, discount codes and even Facebook links.

Steve_xx, really? One comment in the last year? Does that make me a spammer, not suspicious at all, just happy to save some money on what has always been something very expensive to us, we all have poor sight in out family. Now please leave me alone and lets get on with posting useful comments.
Taken in isolation, one comment in a year looks fine. But you,in isolation have made a total of 22 comments over a period of 6 years, and each of those 22 comments relates to to a single company and their products. Whilst I appreciate that you feel you have had a good deal with them I find it hard to imagine that it's the only good deal you've had in the past six years. Therefore you must accept that to a casual onlooker it seems that you have an uncanny interest in one company.

I bought my latest glasses from glassesdirect, they do a try at home free trail (up to four pairs) which was handy and they also had "payday" reductions so I got two pairs of glasses ( £95 cosmopolitan and £85? Own brand) with anti scratch and anti glare, vivid and payday voucher £75 delivered! They came really quickly and I am really pleased, really convenient way of doing things, I'm converted!

ETA- forgot to say £9 odd Quidco cashback too!

I ordered glasses from Specky Four eyes on 12 September 2013 after seeing a code on this site. To get £6 glasses you have to skip everything like 'anti scratch' etc so you get no extras. Postage was £4.99 - but only cost £2.60 to send!

After waiting 3 weeks I emailed them only to receive my own email back as a response. I emailed again a week later - no response.

The glasses eventually arrived on 14 October, not impressed. Couldn't believe it took so long.

While waiting for these glasses to arrive, I ordered 2 pairs from Glasses Direct (online) BOGOF - these arrived in a week! Fab company with home trial which I've used before without problems.:)

Steer clear of Specky Four eyes, they're a terrible company.:(

    Merry Xmas all,

I have went to tesco yesterday and saw that they were doubling points if used to purchase glasses. They also had 2 for 1 on some glasses including rayban. So 2 rayban glasses for £90 in points. Not bad:)

Wish I noticed your warning Judphill. I too ended up ordering another pair while waiting. Mind took about 3 weeks.

What are the absolute best lenses for computer screens?

    Shopping list:
    - no blue light filter (helps sleep, relaxes the eye); typically these are yellow lenses but better are the ones where you can see nothing blue through them
    - the best anti-reflection; not sure if circular polarised or moth eye is available... the sites don't say what the anti-reflective film is
    - prescription

Order of events: Banks lose our money -> get bailed out -> were inflating GBP to cover it -> now taxing us -> next will grab your funds direct -> things get really desperate to balance the books. What should have happened?: banks go bust and we lost our money much quicker

I have used several online glasses companies over the years with mixed success. Some, despite using a UK address, fit the lenses in India seemingly using an angle grinder. Those using Hong Kong seem to have the most up-to-date laser cutting equipment.

I found several videos on Youtube from happy customers of Zenni Optical and tried them, certainly the best I've experienced and simple frames with lenses from $6.95. I'm very happy with my progressive photochromic ones - I could not have afforded them at High Street prices.
