Not sure what you mean by that last comment, presumably having a dig at Martin for recommending Icesave. However by implication you are recommending the accounts marked in red which include ICICI rated at BBB- or just above "junk" status.

Will you be going in to exile in India if they go under?

Only if transferring in previous years' Cash ISA funds from other providers, otherwise the Natwest rate is pretty dire.... ;)

And Barclays is 6.08 monthly which is 6.25% AER.

AER is the best rate to compare, why mix monthly and yearly rates?

Probably because the source is eMoneyfacts, which always appears to quote gross rates, rather than AER.

Yes i wondered where NatWest had got to in that list - I opened mine yesterday - got above 7% AER.

I was really pleased they put my TOISA in with my ISA (both previously Nationwide). TOISAs get a worse rate at Nationwide than ISAs and now together in one ISA, they make a higher savings figure too so I qualified for an even better rate with NatWest :)

So we need 2 banks that provide this sort of ISA account to transferees each year and we can alternate between the two.
  • When I eventually get my Icesave ISA back I want to put it in a SAFE account and just sit back and forget about it for a few years.
    But I want one that
    1. Does not have a bad reputation ie. takes ages to transfer money into or out from another bank.
    2. Gives a consistant good level of interest even when the first year bonus is expired.
    3. Easy to open and fairly quick.
4.Can be opened with 0 balance as I have used my tax free alowance.
    5. One that will accept my Icesave account transfer. (some do not accept transfers)
Am I asking too much, does one exist?
