Our kitchen floor is now done and looks lovely.;)
As we had sufficient tiles, we choose to tile the lot including where the kitchen units will go.
This means we have the option to have a kitchen on legs without a plinth kickboard at the front.
We may even light it from underneath with LEDs to draw the eye to the floor.
It was expensive....far more than the bathroom...Our tiler suggested keeping some spare tiles in case of breakages as he said tiles become unavailable quite quickly. A good tip I think if you are contemplating similar work.0 -
I believe if you put a quote to the customer it should be a final price that you put in, and what you think you should charge and above all it should be what the customer would be happy with.
Measure up the job and give your total cost excluding the tiles and explain the average cost and what gets charged, show pics of your work and be genuine.
If the job takes longer that you expected do not add that to the cost as this should not be passed on to the customer.
If the customer trusts you and you are very competative you will get the work i get lots of work based on this theory......
The customer should only be expected to purchase the Tiles for the job everything else should be included in the quote0
