I'm considering dropping back to Virgin's 2Mb from 10Mb but cannot find out what the 2Mb price is for an existing customer. Does anyone know what it is?

Even though you wont have any intention of doing so, why dont you tell VM that you are considering leaving VM to go to Tiscali or Sky and see what they offer you.
