orange 4-digit ID code

hi all,
I'm trying to top up my friend's PAYG orange phone. I dialled the number on the voucher and it asks me for the 4-digit ID code. Can anyone explain to me what that is and what the default code is?

    That would be the number given when the phone/sim was registered with Orange.
