  • 'twould have been useful for the FSCS to advise what email address they were going to use (from their end), so spam filters could be adjusted accordingly....

But hey, glad there is an end in sight at long last....

Oh no sorry it's just more spam and phishing mails again!

I have given the FSCS the Spanish Inquisition treatment. From what I can understand from our conversation they have not been told what to put in the emails yet.

It is really odd isn't it? here we all are excitedly awaiting to get at the cash as though we have won a prize or something whereas it's our own cash we are waiting for, Lol we shall all feel like we have won the lottery when we get it! :rotfl:

yeah but that will take a while to open and i doubt they will still be doing the deal in month or 2

... they will, I'm sure of it. On 10th November Natwest are re-launching the offer but with lower rates, presumably to account for the October BOE rate drop. There's no way they'd re-launch it, only to pull it again straight away.

My best guess is that if we have the Icesave money back in current accounts by the 24th November and have the go-ahead to take that to an ISA provider, then allowing a week or two clearance, it would still be ok to transfer into Natwest around the 5th December or so.

EDIT: "Re-launch" is maybe a bit strong, but certainly a new set of interest rates are applicable from the 10th November.

I refer to my earlier post. Some of us do not have time to sit back and wait. I am grateful that we are getting our money back but that is the first hurdle for those who needed it ONE month ago
Another dose of half clues how we are getting our compensation in the last hours today then. I'ts beginning to look like a treasure hunt but the prize is our own hard saved funds! Nothing solid about the ISA. I've got 10 years worth of savings in an ISA and I'm supposed to on my first big trip overseas in 10 days. I should be looking forward to a one off holiday of a lifetime, gave up my job & doing it while I still can, but I don't know if I can now go because I don't know if I'll have the money in time I need to live on while away.
I have aproached several banks including my own and told them there might be a sudden influx of money coming into their funds but they knew nothing about it and could not give me any help how I might sort things easily while away. Looks like my ISA could be stuck for the next few months with 0 interest.
It my sound like I'm whinging but what about the folk who needed it for house deposits or getting married too?
