you can get devices on Ebay (and other places) that pic up a spare radio frequency and play it that way.

You need something called a "Griffin itrip" (do a search on ebay uk). Different models for different ipods....so take care! I have a feeling these used to be illegal in the UK - not sure what the position is now....0 -
Depending on the frequency they use to broadcast and the power, they may well be illegal - usually anything that can be picked up on a standard radio is a restricted frequency0

I think they classed as illegal ie not unlike pirate radio. I did get one 6 months back but its utter rubbish very poor FM. I also tried it on a freinds car in case it was mine but it was just as bad, although he bought one and its fine but cost a lot more. It also able to chanfe FM ferquency which mine didnt so it may be best to get a better model with changeable FM frequency.0

Oh.....just noticed my post has been deleted. Did I post something I shouldn't have? Sorry if I did.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0

I got one in America and it is pants. It only works between certain frequencies (which are probably blank over there) and I could barely hear the music. So much so that I used it once and have gone back to CDs0 -
If your car has a tape player, than you can get cassette adaptors (like this) for pocket money that should do the trick. They're not the best solution, but they work.
Put the cassette-shaped bit into the tape player, and plug the other end into the line out socket of your mp3 player, and you're away. You can get them on the high street, too. Maplin certainly do them, and I suspect places like Dixons and Halfords do too.0 -
I have a friend who bought one of these to listen to their ipod when travelling across australia in a campervan. They said it was quite poor in the city areas but once they got out into the bush away from other radio signals it was really good. I don't think you'll be able to find many places like that in the UK though.0

My daughter has one from the US too. Despite all the other comments to the contrary - she finds that it works well in the car, providing it is tuned into a blank FM frequency and the ipod is placed close to the radio. She also uses it to play through home music systems.0 -
The device Halfords sell won't be compatible with your Panasonic anyway -- they connect to the multichanger inputs on the back of the head unit and to the best of my knowledge the Panny's inputs are too well protected to be workable.
They'll probably install a separate amplifier ahead of the head unit but the sound quality on this probably won't be too good.
My suggestion would be to swap the head unit out for one with an ipod connector on the front. The FM transmitters can work quite well but make sire you get one that fits into the cig lighter rather than a battery one as the battery ones aren't very powerful and you'll get an iffy sound quality.0
