Hi I bought one of these canon cameras for my 10 year olds birthday and was wondering about a memory card for it. I don't know anything about quality or if they are all the same. He likes 'making movies' so I guess, the bigger the better
I have seen a couple and was hoping that I could have some comments before buying
Amazon / Amazon 2 / Play.com / Jessops
TIA

Also have a look at www.mymemory.com too good prices and range.
Any SD or SDHC will work with the camera, you can pay more for faster and better warranties cards. Personally I've always used SanDisk cards, such as the ones you've picked, they are high quality, I use the standard ones for snap cameras and their top of the range series for my DSLR camera, as I need the speed from them.
Note the Amazon links you've posted aren't directly sold from Amazon, but by third party Amazon traders.
PS Never buy this type memory from eBay you'll end up with fakes!0 -

www.7dayshop.com is good, however it does take a while to deliver on occassions. Only use them if you're son's birthday is about 4 weeks away.0

Thanks for your replies.......
Just one more question..... how many photos would a 4 GB memory card hold remembering that the camera is 7.1 mp ??

At least 5000

1000-1250, somewhere around there, I think. 7MP should produce a JPG of 3-4MB.0

Are you shooting at the highest quality? I get 400 on a 1GB card from a 5MP camera, so i would have thought you would get fewer than 700.
Here's a table with numbers:
