Sony Erricsson and my repair!!!

I had brought my Sony Ericsson mobile phone w580i from Next in April 2008. The phone started to play up around September, I sent the phone around to Sony's repair centre (Kuehne = Nagel), now they are saying the phone has water damage.

I am enraged as the phone has never had water damage or liquid damage.

The fault of the phone is that it turns it self off, and sometimes wont come back on, then that stopped and the only problem was the aerial no network. Before the phone was sent to Sony i was still using it the only problem was the areial as the network was troublesome.

Sony are now saying it has turned itself off, but this is all together not true as it was staying on and i could make and retrieve phone calls, surely if it was water damaged i wouldn't be able to make phone calls.

Plus as i've looked on other forums, this problem seems to be a symptom of the phone itself!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Can anyone advise please, thank you.

even rainwater is enough to trigger the moisture stickers to change colour.

when you get the phone back, try upgrading the software yourself using SEUS.

cimeow my son had a se 880i he was told by cpw his phone had water damage as his phone would not switch on, we were baffled, also one of my other sons has a se 350i and his flip flap has snapped off , when i queried it with sony ericcson they said they'd have a look but if it didnt come under warranty and we didnt want them to repair it this is what they said

Please note that if the damage is not covered by the Sony Ericsson Limited Warranty, there is a fee of £10.00 + VAT to have your product returned should you not accept the estimated costs for repair.

be prepared they'll probably charge you if you dont want them to repair it:eek:
