Is there anything extra in white vinegar or can i just use acetic acid? I can get this at work. Our local Tesco doesn't stock white vinegar.

Please be careful. Is “Acetic Acid” the Same Thing as Vinegar?
No. The United States Food & Drug Administration (FDA) recognizes that diluted acetic acid is not vinegar, indicating that it is:
“misleading if the labeling of a food in which acetic acid is used implies or suggests that the food contains or was not prepared with vinegar. I used to work with acetic acid and it is wa-a-a-ay stronger than vinegar. Nasty stuff.

Acetic acid is in vinegar. The chemical acetic acid is in a purer form. I may be wrong here, but the stuff used for taking nail polish off is largely acetic acid. It certainly smells like it.Small change can often be found under seat cushions.

Typically, vinegar is about 4 to 8% acetic acid.
So if you find out the concentration of the acetic acid you can get you can use it instead of vinagar at the right dilution around the house.
If you need help working out the dilution post the info from the bottle on here (and for concentration specify whether it is mole % or mass %).

as far as I know, any 'vinegar' you see labelled 'non brewed condiment' is the dilute acetic acid version
anything else is proper vinegar, whether it's originally made from a malted source, or wine, cider, sherry etc0 -
I hope you don't mind me asking ... can "non brewed condiment" be used in place of vinegar?
I'm meant to be going to Makro this week, so I thought I might take a gander at the price of this ...

Yes there's no probs with using NBC in place of vinegar. It's just the cheapo version for all intents and purposes.0

I have heard I can get it from Makro ...
