Atlaschoice.com Car Hire Discount

Hey everyone - 1st post here, so sorry if I make a mistake or have posted in the wrong place.

Received an email yesterday from Atlas choice (www.atlaschoice.com) with a discount "promocode" in it - I've booked with it (off to portugal in a few weeks! :j ) and so did my friend so seems to be open for anyone to use. Price seems low anyway but in true moneysaving style, get as much off as you can!!! Doesn't say in email how long valid for.

Promocode is AME973

(have I got it right to post here or is there a place for discount codes?)

Does it say what the discount is supposed to be?

I've just tried without the code and with it and got exactly the same price quote.

If you've used this company before, and have received a promo code because you're on their mailing list, then you'll know what to expect.

If you haven't used them before, and are not on their customer mailing list, it's generally wise not to take up any "promotional offer" -- from any source -- without Googling first.

Might be a good idea to do so now to find out what other Atlas Choice customers say.

I usually input the name of the company I'm checking and then the word "complaint". The results then help in assessing whether the promotional code I've received is (a) worth using and (b) recommending to anyone else.

It's possibly a variable offer; the extent of the discount depends on the hire location. The OP may well have got a good deal but doesn't exactly say.

I've just run an AtlasChoice rental check at Tenerife airport for a small 4-door car with air con for 2 weeks (a Renault Clio.) The cost without the promo code is £201. The cost with the promo code is £197.

By comparison, a small 4-door car with air con for 2 weeks -- a Citroen C3 -- for the same period from the same airport location from Autoreisen is £161.

Like AtlasChoice, Autoreisen's price is also fully inclusive of all insurances.
  • BEWARE out there!!!!!!!
Go online and read the reviews of this terrible company.
    I wish I had.
I was left without a car the day before flying to Geneva.
First they said I had a car, then they cancelled it, then they said I had a car, but for more money (!!) and then they cancelled that one.
Atlas Choice will not let you speak to a manager or someone in customer services, they do not reply to emails, they claim emails have been sent when they have not and , in the final analysis, they do not supply you with a car.
They attempted to increase the cost of my rental, claiming no cars were available - although I got the same one easily with a regular company - and the worst part of all is that they claim that you cannot BOOK a car over the internet as they are BROKERS, all you do is make a REQUEST which they have every right to turn down if they feel like it. They could not care less.
I cannot believe such a good site as MSE continues to let this awful company exploit others on this fantastic forum.:mad::mad::mad:

I have used Atlas Choice for two car hire bookings, and one hotel. No problems at all.
    Gone ... or have I?

They said the car i wanted was 'unavailable' twice and tried to charge extra everytime. The car i wanted orginally mircaulously turned up but they wanted to charge another £40. Needless to say, i told them where to get off!

Had a great experience with these guys, paid £112 for seven days car hire with them, and then they phoned up and offered me an additional day absolutely free, also got an upgrade from a Citroen C1 to a Hyundai i30 on collection...so I'm not complaining!! :money::money::money:
  • Used the code for Sardinia which worked but it disapeared again at ther checkout. Went from 253 GBP up to 293 total.

another really old post coming back to life :) this would probably have been spam back then, one post and nothing since :)
  • I received terrible customer service from Atlas Choice and I will never be using them again. To be honest, I would prefer to pay more and go directly to Hertz. I was repeatedly given incorrect information by the Atlas Choice customer service team, which lead to me contacting Hertz directly in order to get my questions answered. I was also extremely dissapointed that Atlas Choice refused to honor you 14 Day Money Back Warranty- This is obviously a way to trick customers into taking out car hire and is not actually a valid promise. Do not use Atlas Choice!! Yes, they are slightly cheaper than other sites but you will end up wishing you'd paid a bit more and used a different company!
