so i cant make a claim on monday and get a sick note tuesday i have to get the sicknote 1st?0

it says you can self certify for the first 7 days if I'm reading it right......
under the old scheme I got SSP for the first 26 (?) weeks, so my self-certification was the first 7 days of that. by the time I got to a point I had to claim IB then I had to have a current sick note from day 1.
if this new one replaces both SSP and IB, then I guess the self certification is the first 7 days of this -- providing you're not already off sick, or haven't been within the last however many weeks would make it a 'linked' period.Cheryl0
