can i use a sagem

Hi
I have an old Nokia 3210 I think on a vodaphone contract. The battery is shot and my friend gave me a sagem mw3020 that she had on pay as you go. Being a bit blonde I thought I could just put my sim in and use it but no. Can I use it and if so how?
Please help me I am sorry if I am being a bit stupid

provided the phone is a vodafone phone, otherwise it might need unlocking

I think you'll need a cable to unlock it. Best go to your local open market and get a mobile phone stallholder to unlock it for a tenner!

The sagem is a vodaphone but it is a pay as you talk and I am on contract
does that mean i still have to get it unlocked it doesnt recognise the sim??

i have tried putting my sim in the phone and it says sim not present - any ideas?????

sounds like the phone is broke, try gently cleaning the contacts in the phone with a cotton bud in case they are dirty
