Car insurance renewed, now claim on old insurance!

Hi guys, any help on this would be greatly apprecaiated..
Back in July I had a little bump, probably with me being at fault.! I exchanged details with the other guy, but didn't hear anything back so I assumed everything was ok (it was only a little bump).
Anyway, since then I have renewed my insurance and taken out protection on my now 5 years no claims bonus (thought it might be a good idea after the bump in July!). Now it appears the guy has decided to make a claim!
Is my current insurance valid given that I purchased it with 5 years ncb (it was unprotected) and no accident history?

No
You should have informed them about the accident regardless of whether you had a claim through or not
Your asked about pending claims and accidents
Not actual fault claims and insurance accidents
Get on tthe phone ASAP as your insurance may be void0 -
You say it was a little bump, so maybe you can retain your ncb by paying for the repairs yourself.
You still need to inform your new insurers of the incident ASAP.0
