any one transferred from marks and spencers money?

has any one on here had any problems transfering the cash isa from marks and spencer money, just curious as initially it seemed to confuse nat west that i only had a "customer reference number" as apposed to a sort code and account number, i had called m&s before and they confirmed they dont have these as they are not a banking insitution, (funnily they clicked it was for a transfer, and asked if it was to natwest, wonder if they are loosing a lot to them? when i said yes, the person i spoke to said it should be ok, as theyd had a few conversations with natwest on this subject recently)

the natwest staff member said it "should be ok" but am just wondering if i should be concerned

Looking to transfer too from my M&S ISA too since they dropped the rate to 3% yesterday!

anna42hmr - do you mean the "Client Reference Number"?

Did you ever receive a certificate too when you signed up?
    Waddle you do eh?

Never used M&S, but Icesave only issued a single reference/account number with no Sort Code, etc., which initially confused LTSB when I transferred it to them - they rang to check with Icesave and the transfer went through with no problems.

yep i meant the client reference number, god they dropped it quick, i suppose i was lucky to move to natwest when i did, its dragged on a bit the transfere but at least i was in time to get the 2% natwest transfer bonus (now 1.76 bonus) plus didnt get hit by the drop on marks and spencers!

nope dont remember ever getting a certificate, only confirmations when i had paid into it, plus the annual statements

Going to go for a transfer on Monday at my local Natwest branch, on the transfer form did you just put the client reference code in? as it saids on the form to not go outside of the boxes but the number is 12 digits long and there is only space for 8.

Roughly how long did it take for your transfer to go through?

Yes, my wife and I both transferred from M&S to NatWest.

We filled in the form such that the rightmost digits of the M&S reference were in the boxes provided, and just prefixed the boxes with the leftmost digits. I think we crossed out the words 'Account Number' and put 'Customer Reference' as well.

It seemed to not present any problem. The confirmation letters from M&S (with closing balances) arrived about 10 days after we left the forms with NatWest IIRC.

i pretty much filled in the form in the same way as described by bristolvr

as for how long for the transfer, i went into the branch on 23rd october and my money has shown up on the online account today (however marks and spencers sent the cheque to natwest on 28th october so have lost quite a few days interest waiting for natwest to process it)
