ASDA frozen chicken breasts tastes like ham

I bought 4 bags of ASDA Smartprice chicken breasts yesterday and cooked two fillets today. When they were defrosted they had a slim covering them and when cooked they didn't string like chicken does and tasted of ham. Unfortunately the receipt went with the binmen this morning. Tesco chicken from now on.
Can I take the chicken back and get a refund, even although I have no receipt, just 4 bags of useless ASDA Smartprice Chicken Breast Fillets ?

can i just ask - if they had a unusual slim on them, and you mentioned you didnt think they were cooking properly . . why did you eat them? You'll end up with food poisioning. In regards to the question, you can take them back - they're in ASDA packaging so not as if you could of brought them at tesco etc - but i dont know what they will do about it?0

Some time ago I had this chicken - it is disgusting! It is rubbery as if it has had water added to it. I really didn't want the rest of it so gave it to my dog - who seemed to like it very much.0

I use the local butcher from time to time, as well as buying frozen stuff. I've used value chicken from Tescos and it was as good as the local butchers, just didn't expect to get chicken like this.can i just ask - if they had a unusual slim on them, and you mentioned you didnt think they were cooking properly . . why did you eat them? I washed the slim off. As for why I ate them, I only took a few bites as one does to find out what it's like.0 -

I went to the local bin on the main road to dispose of it because I didn't want it hanging around in our bin until the binmen came, never, ever, again will I sample such utter poo.
Oh, and I never thought about taking it back, I was to eager to dispose of it.Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

If you still have the packaging with the bar codes etc on then you can take it back to asda and get a refund onto a gift card. or an exchange.
I have had chicken which is off previously and I have phoned up the phone number from their website and they have sent out a gift card after taking the details from the packaging over the phone.
