----> Allexie - can you clarify if the Pizza Hut/TGI Friday vouchers can be combined????
-*-*-> I assume you mean can you use more than one voucher to pay for your bill. Yes you can - but there are terms and conditions to every voucher that you should always check. Ordinarily these will be on the offer page on Pigsback.com - other than that they're vouchers that can be treated almost as cash.
_____________________________________________________
----> Innovate - is there a difference between the Daily Crossword and the Bring on the Day with Nescafe Crossword? i.e. are they two separate things or the same?
-*-*-> They are the same crossword in different guises. The Nescafé crossword is live in Ireland, the other in Great Britain and NI
_____________________________________________________
----> Kazzea - where has Avon gone in the Shop and Earn section?? - its no longer on the drop down list
-*-*-> I've just checked for Avon and it's there...
_____________________________________________________
----> Daragh,
-*-*-> First mistake... the name is DarRagh
_____________________________________________________
----> I used an £8.75 CD-Wow voucher and bought a CD that only cost £7.99 (many of their CDs incl Chart have gone down to £7.99). What happened to my other 76p ? I didn't get a credit at CD-Wow ? Perhaps a £7.99 CD Wow voucher could be available for 900 points ??
-*-*-> Your voucher can be used on your next purchase and you can redeem your 76p then. We won't be including a £7.99 voucher for the foreseeable future I'm afraid.

----> Droopsnout: What happens to multiple submissions of the daily crossword? Is there a software mechanism to discard all submissions after the first one?
Or are all submissions, including duplicate entries, enetered into the draw. (Can I add a question: Why is the winner not named, as s/he is in the Rustlers comp?)
There is no new crossword on Saturdays and Sundays. It is, however, possible to resubmit Friday's. Is there any advantage to doing this, and how does this tie in with your answer to the last question?
-*-*-> I have no idea - but I'll find out.

----> Why are so many people not getting their eBay 300 points, months after they signed up and made their first bid (13 July in my case)?
----> Why are so many people not getting their 200 points for their registration with LightSpeed? (Again, on 13 July for me).
-*-*-> Can you email postmaster if you're still waiting for PiggyPoints please, following the instructions above.
_____________________________________________________
----> Why were so many people advised that they had not followed the correct procedure to claim points when it would seem that the majority had indeed done so?
-*-*-> Well it happens because MOST people get their PiggyPoints - some don't and those that don't TEND to have doen something different. This is a classic technical support standard as well.
However we do treat everyone on a case by case basis - but some people are chancers unfortunately!
_____________________________________________________
----> Why did the daily quizzes frequently fail to appear? (Hopefully, this is a thing of the past).
-*-*-> BETTER BE!!
_____________________________________________________
----> Why was the winner of the 10-point Know Your Celebs quiz named on-screen, when there was no prize to be won? (This was stopped shortly after I mentioned it here).
-*-*-> This was a mistake. There was no "winner" of the 10 Point quiz at the time - everyone who entered earned 10 PiggyPoints.
_____________________________________________________
----> Why does the winner of the daily Rustlers Trivia Quiz always live in "SE - London South West" - apparently?
-*-*-> I'll check this out - it's a bug in the system but we'll try get it resolved...
_____________________________________________________
----> Why is it unlikely that the L2S vouchers will return? (I accept that this may be commercially sensitive, but I would respect such an answer if it was given).
-*-*-> This is a commercially sensitive issue alright, but we ask our suppliers to fulfil certain criteria to suit our finance and accounting and unfortunately they didn't...
_____________________________________________________
----> Re. the UK/Irish sites discussion, typing in "win points" in the home page search window also brings up the Irish version of the crossword, sponsored by Nestlé and a Dublin radio station. I'm sure that a UK entry for this would not be allowed to win. Someone - maybe innovate - asked Darragh to comment on this previously, but we've had no answer.
-*-*-> This should be sorted now. Another bug in the system (blooming bugs!) - that's what (as Curly would say) you get for allowing humans to build the website!
_____________________________________________________
----> ~cleo~ Why is the Irish site so much better than the UK site
-*-*-> What a horribe thing to say
Ah no, I know what you mean cleo. But remember we're only 6 months old (launched June 13th) whereas the Irish one is 5 years old. How would anyone suggest we improve??0 -
----> Also an error if you logout then go to login but dont enter any details and just click login you are taken to the Irish site and logged in as someone else... this is very poor major programming error.
-*-*-> I'm afraid i haven't been able to do this! Can anyone let me know if they do and what URL it's from please?
_____________________________________________________
----> Umer: Hi Darraghd, Just a quick question about vouchers. On the other thread you said the Boots vouchers will be live today or tomorrow. Are these only useable at Boots stores? Are you expecting any highstreet ones soon that can be used at a variety of stores? Thanks for any help!
-*-*-> Yes these were/will be for Boots. the other high street ones we're looking into at the moment...
_____________________________________________________
----> Jellyhead: darragh, can charity donations be giftaided? i donated 100 points to forgotten children this week but i give all of my usual donations through giftaid and would rather do so if possible. when i donated my name and address came up so i just wondered if you've got the name and address info is there any possibility of using it to sort out giftaid if the person is able to do so?
-*-*-> I'm afraid I don't know what giftaided means! Can anyone advise please?
_____________________________________________________
----> Boo-boo: Darragh, I've sent numerous e-mails to postmaster@pigsback.com and unfortunately I haven't received a reply yet.I have also emailed yourself as per request in the Pigsback thread.
-*-*-> Hmmmmmm and Grrrrrrr andSorry!!
_____________________________________________________
----> I won 8205 points on 2/08/05(Jackpot pool) and ordered 7 L2S vouchers on 5/08/05. I haven't received them and I really hoped that you'll not ignore my messages and finally credit the points back to my account. That’s my last hope and I’m expecting a respond!
-*-*-> Has this issue been resolved for you yet? If this is who I think it is, then it has...0 -
----> Clowance: Firstly thanks for everyone who is so helpful on this thread re comp answers and clickthroughs etc.
-*-*-> AGREED!!
_____________________________________________________
----> Question: I bet 50 piggy points on the Conway sisters being ejected from the x factor - havent got a prize yet , how long does it take them, usually?
-*-*-> PiggyPoints are usually credited within 5 working days of the jackpot ending. Any more and there's been a problem...
These are the terms and conditions on the jackpots...
* Your stake will be immediately deducted from your PiggyBank
* The combined stake or the pool will be distributed among winners after the event is settled, less a 20% deduction for administration
* If there is no winner, the jackpot will be rolled over to a later event
* The closing date and time are indicated in all cases. Any entries made for whatever reason after this time may be deemed null and void
* The judge's decision is final in all matters
* You must be over 18 to participate in a jackpot
_____________________________________________________
----> Loobyloose:i cannot find the ask darragh a question post. I said what about choice vouchers, but then what about luncheon vouchers, we can use them in tescos, asda, morrisons, sainsburys and many more
-*-*-> Will look at this and let you know!
_____________________________________________________
----> What is happening with the advent calendar regarding daily rewards?
-*-*-> That was a pain in the face and embarassing for us. there wasn't enough organisation and thought put behind it I'm afraid but we tried to do as much as possible...
_____________________________________________________
----> ...and still no new Advent Calendar prize.
Why do companies do this? Just as Pigsback was growing at such a fast rate and becoming more and more popular (especially through these threads on MSE which fill up in a matter of days) they then:
1. Scrap two of the most popular aspects of their site, the 10point quizzes
2. Start annyoing people by delaying the sending of Boots vouchers
3. Remove said Boots vouchers
4. Don't replace Love2Shop voucher yet despite promising to do so months ago
5. Use a system of updating quizzes and especially the Advent Calendar prize which is inefficent and delayed
6. Have a response time to queries and questions increase dramatically (including Darragh's help on the board which has disappeared)
Come on Pigsback it's Christmas, show a little festive generosity and good business sense, it's a great site and these little things tend to annoy dedicated users!
-*-*-> This one was interesting so I included it - and my response is - good points - my responses are:
1. Not the most popular - Shop and Earn is by far the most popular - but point taken and we are reallocating the PiggyPoints around the site.
2. They were so popluar they're out of stock but are coming back.
3. See above
4. We're working on it! Again when you say "Months ago" please bear in mind the site is only 6 months old over here!
5. Agreed. Won't happen again.
6. Not sure if your point is a good thing or bad thing in our favour but again this is something that is improving!
_____________________________________________________
----> First things first though Darragh - I don't think ANYONE who sent an email with the MSE heading has had a reply yet - and there is nothing wrong with our emails - we get other mail from pigback no probs
-*-*-> Is this true? Can anyone tell me it's not - please!! I know I've responded to a lot, either by email or over the phone!
_____________________________________________________
----> Darragh - can I just point out that you seem to think that questions posted on Pigsbacks own forum get answered - well THEY DON'T - on the occasions that they do it is usually a week or so later - replies are only ever posted quickert than that if someone from Pigsback happens to be on the forum.
-*-*-> You know I'm on that forum a lot and I prefer members to answer the questions. Curly only drops in ands out when necessary (or when I ask him to). But every query gets replied to - Curly sees to that personally!
_____________________________________________________
----> The forum itself is extremely slow to load in the first place to get into and that stupid scrolling banner at the start of whats new covers things that are weeks or months out of date (and I find the whole thing completely pointless).
-*-*-> That's true and I'm trying to get updated Forum software live on the site but a lot of integration has to be done. That scrolling banner is gone...
_____________________________________________________
----> Also the pigsback forum only seems to let one user per computer register to post on it therefore only one member of my family is registered and can actually post.
-*-*-> Now that's interesting! I did not know that! I'll check that out for you.
_____________________________________________________
----> Oh and I PHONED Pigsback yesterday morning and was told to expect a call back shortly - well funnily enough still no phone call - so if Pigsback do not even return phone calls what confidence do any of us have in Pigsback replying to emails???.
-*-*-> Do you know who you were speaking to? That's unlike the team here! You're better off emailing postmaster though...
_____________________________________________________
----> Honestly - if Pigsback could sort out just ONE thing (obviously apart from points earning opportunities) then it should be to sort out their email system. This would reduce the number of negative posts immensely as people could actually rely on a reply from Pigsback rather then having to ask other people their opinion or slate Pigsback in a public forum.
-*-*-> Very true... and something we're worhing on!
_____________________________________________________
----> On a business note (not as a user) I honestly don't know why you don't change the questions to get 10 points if you get it correct FIRST time or even have 3 questions that you had to get them all right on that one shot to get the points. You could also perhaps not let people cash in their points until they have bought something through Pigsback - this way if people wanted to they could just build their points total up but would have to have bought something at least once before cashing out. This would also reduce people cashing in as soon as they reach the minimum number of points for vouchers etc and perhaps reduce the massive requests at the same time for these items. Obviously if these changes were made it would be nice to put back some points for answering questions or answering a poll etc
-*-*-> Interesting point - will definitely look at this and see if we can implement it. No promises but initially seems interesting.
_____________________________________________________
----> Seems the entertainment quiz is telling folks they have already anwered the question, even when they haven't. Also seems to be happening several days in a row. They have tried deleting cookies to no effect. Don't know if you can help?
-*-*-> This seems to have been down to caching. Is anyone still experiencing problems with Spotlight?
_____________________________________________________
----> apparently Boots Vouchers are still advertisied on the "Treat Yourself" section. Which will be fine when (if) they come back, but seems to be annoying people.
-*-*-> They were - well spotted! Sorry about that!!
_____________________________________________________
----> I entered a jackpot pool and made my selection and bet 500 points. When the page refreshed I was told that my 500 points were on a different selection. I have no ide how this happened, although the page did seem slow and took a while to load. I e-mailed through the website immediately asking for it to be changed or points refunded.
I understand that people may change their minds or realise that there is a better choice later on, but you can see by how quickly I e-mailed that this is not the case here.
-*-*-> Could you possibly have hit refresh? This may have happened. Postmaster should be able to change this for you. If not please let me know. This is done on a case by case basis.

----> Darragh, A while ago I decided to print off the Blockbusters 2-for-1 DVD/Games rental voucher from the Pigsback.com website. These can be used on Mon-Thurs up until 31st December 2005.
Today, I took a trip to my local Blockbusters armed with my printed voucher. I spent a while deciding which 2 DVDs to rent out. Having made my choice, I made my way to the tills and presented the shop assistant with my voucher. Unfortunately, to my embarrassment, they had no idea what the voucher was for, who pigsback.com were and said they couldn't even use it because it does not have a barcode. I asked them to type in the unique reference number that was printed on the voucher, but they said they couldn't use it because every coupon or voucheris supposed to be scanned in.
So Darragh........why have I been made to look like a right eejit in my local blockbusters? They must have thought I was some kind of scammer creating my own discount voucher trying to pull a fast one on them.
Has anyone else had any luck with the blockbusters stores accepting these vouchers?
-*-*-> THAT IS DISGRACEFUL. Have you emailed postmaster about this? I'll get onto it straight wawy. I do apologise. They should all know about it and I have no idea why they didn't... Can you resend the email to postmaster@pigsback.com please?
_____________________________________________________
----> How the hell can you win back less than you've staked??? That just doesn't make sense and in my opinion is surely in some way illegal?!?!?!?? If that happened in a bookies then surely there would be a huge uproar!!
I staked 100 points on no snow in England and got 91 back, and 50 points on no snow in Ireland and got 44 points back!! So Twice bitten and VERY p****d off!!!!!
-*-*-> I'll look at this as soon as possible and come back with an answer by the end of the week...
That's it for the moment!
Darragh0 -
Wow, quick response to so many questions, thanks darragh! Im just interested in finding out why winning on the jackpots gives u a lower amount than that staked (crazy if u ask me!!)...0

Oh it's been fun! In truth did most of the legwork over Christmas - just typed it all today!
As for the clickthroughs - there were 6 (I'll get more added this week if possible and let you know). There will be new offers coming up so the number you'll get (I assume it's cos you've already seen most of the offers) will rise, I promise!!
