Chocolate fountain question

You need more chocolate than you think as it needs to be kept topped up in order for the pump to work properly. We had a mini one (the kind you get from Argos etc) for a party and I think we had about a kilo and a half of chocolate, that was just about enough to keep the fountain going and gave about twenty people a good go.
It can help if you add a little bit of veg oil to the chocolate (not much, just a tiny dribble), or it's fine to use a good quality cooking chocolate rather than pay more for decent 'eating' chocolate - most people don't eat *that* much as it's the novelty that's the thing, and you've got all the dipping bits anyway. We also found that it was better to melt the chocolate over a pan of water and then pour it into the fountain, rather than wait for the fountain to heat it. Also, put it on a disposable tablecloth as it's very, very, very messy
And ... clean it before the chocolate sets! If you leave it to go hard in the 'workings' it's soooo much harder to clean! 0 -
we used 900g in ours last night for pudding and there were only 6 of us!!0

General consensus of opinion is clearly that the OP does not have enough chocolate. All I know is I want marshmallows, strawberries and chocolate!0

But would she EVER have enough chocolate? We all know you can never have too much ...
Hopefully she will let us know how much she had, and how much (more / less) she thinks she needed!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I don't think there will be enough chocolate.
900g / 60 children = 15g per child (and that isn't accounting for chocolate to keep the machine running and dribbles). Here I go again on my own....0
