Virgin Media warning

I have just left Virgin after being a customer for several years and moved to Sky (thank god).
I had an old Telewest email address which I had still planned using temporarily whilst switching to my new Sky one. Virgin in their lovely wisdom have failed to tell me that you lose that email address when they disconnect your services.
I have just spoken to Customer Services who couldn't care less, despite telling me I should have been told then contradiciting herself and said we don't tell anyone  She then refused to put me through to her manager to complain! I'm fuming  this is not enough arghhhh.
So I've now lost so much information and it's going to take me hours and hours to sort out who I need to tell about my email address.

Don't mean to seem to be a know it all but I would have thought it obvious that you'd lose the Email address. It's far better to get an Email address with a provider who isn't your broadband provider, then when you change provider you can keep the Email address. I use googlemail (from google) and it's great. Hope you get sorted soon.0

For around £6 for 2 years you could purchase your own domain. Then you could use fred@yourdomain.co.uk. You could event host email accounts for all the family.0

Not a lot you can do really. Ask them nicely if there's any way they can recover your account while you sort it out.0 -
