Do o2 PAYG Sims (or others) Expire?

I sent off for some of the free o2 sims (300 texts etc) when they were on offer earlier in the year which had offers expiring in March. I never took them out of the packet therefore they still have not been used (not even pressed out of the card).

I realise that the offer has probably finished (or does the offer get updated to the latest one?), but will the number on the sim have been reclaimed by o2 or do they stay until you activate them?

The numbers are reclaimed by o2 after a couple of months usually, and the sim becomes invalid.

yep and it used to be that with certain networks, if you had a used sim and didnt top up within 6 months the sim would die too, i presume this is still the case (says the woman with about 25 old sim cards in the house, including some prehistoric one2one lol!)
