I've had my nu drive units fitted for 2 months now & my experience has been really good.
My main reason for purchasing them was to avoid cold & wet hands in winter & they have achieved this.
Added advantage is that my hands don't come into contact with the usual yuck (dog mess, mud, squashed worms, sticky sweets, chewing gum, etc) from the pavements & roads.
I'm sitting up straighter in my chair & breathing easier.
I'm quite strong in the shoulders so most days I don't gain an awful lot of mechanical advantage from the levers but my condition varies & on my weaker days they are really useful.
My experience of customer service has been excellent. A minor problem in the first couple of weeks was sorted out almost immediately & completely to my satisfaction.
This kit is excellent value for money, I've seen similar kit at more than 4 times the price.
Hope this helps
How easy/possible is it to do a wheelie to get up/down kerbs etc?0 -
I've never been able to back wheel balance in my chair but I can easily get up kerbs of 3-4 inches with the nu-drive levers. It only took a few days to master using them & I'm still experimenting with bigger kerbs0

Not sure if last post went through as it had links on it.
If you are interested in lever drive wheelchairs there is a good site at:
jouleflow-water-features it has an information page & a link to a great video.
You can also find the video on youtube by searching for "one arm lever drive wheelchair"

Hello
I was looking into buying these myself as i am pretty new in a manual and get sores on my hands even when wearing thick leather gloves (plus dont like all the gunk in the rainy weather blech!). I dont know where people got the idea that its £364 tho? On the website it says £695... has someone got a place where they are cheaper? :T
I must say atm the price is the only thing putting me off. I feel like its criminal what companys charge for manual wheelchairs and products like these!! Esp when people sometimes have no choice. Gets me so mad!0 -
oooh just found these ww.wijit.com Hmm at $4,600 makes the nudrives look positively cheap at £700.0

Remember that the thread is getting on for a couple of years old, they may have practically doubled in price since then ...Signature removed for peace of mind0

This model of NuDrive (Standard) has been discontinued. The product was made in India and was the first product that NuDrive brought out in 2008. A new model was launched in 2012 which is made in the UK and has been redeveloped. The new product has improved brakes, higher quality aluminium parts and is easier to fit and remove from any wheelchair in seconds. The new product, called NuDrive Evo is being sold in the UK for £1,895 GBP.0

Thanks - I obviously missed that bit. I'm not the world's best at seeing what's in front of my nose!
