  • Hi Millemonster

I do get wipes free but because they are toilet flushable they have lil holes in them and then you get covered (not nice). That i find it better to use the ones you buy. I promise this is not me being a snob. There ok for the front end but not the backend waste (the waste from an ileostomy is very watery). Also, cleaning the stoma the free ones are really wet and difficult to use. It's hard to explain, i find them difficult to use. It probably wouldn't make financial sense i have tried honest.

Sorry to hear of your situation.
Do either of you have previous employment that would have a benevolent fund that may be able to offer you some assistance?
    Take care & keep posting.

  • Unfortuntely not. I worked for an accountancy practice and my husband worked for a ground working company. Because i am really rare in what happened to me. My symptoms are a cross between a spinal cord injury and some-one with MS. Secondary to that the bleed caused Hydrocephalus treated with a Shunt. There's no help for me anywhere because there's not one problem. I sound like a major sad sack case. I knew i should have tried out for X-factor!!! :-)

Here are some details from OFWAT Water regulator about capped bills for persons who have disabilities which mean they need to use more water. Looks like you would qualify:

  • Thanks for that

I'm finding out new things everyday.

I'm tempted to ring northern rock and ask for reduced payments. Do you think it would be worth it?

Are you paying capital & Interest or interest only at the moment?

Some mortgages have an option of taking repayment Holidays - this might be mentioned on the original paperwork.

NR normally can give you a pay hol for every 9 months you have paid but as ajaney says check your paperwork or give them a ring.
