    Hello,
Does anyone know if there are mobilty scooter breakers yards (like for cars), or where we could find a spares supplier,

We think the scooter was made in Taiwan.

    Thanking you in anticipation.

    Love

    Christina

It seems to be very difficult to find repair manuals and/or spare parts for scooters (rather like the situation used to be with washing machines etc.) A friend of mine had a Shoprider Cadiz (full size model) which developed a whine in the transmission and play at the front wheel bearings. We found it impossible to find a manual or parts. He was quoted £160 minimum charge to check it over plus parts and labour. When you can get an annual service and MOT for a 2 litre car for about the same that seems to be a bit off. He ended up trading it in for a new one. The dealer told him that the trade-ins get fettled and often shipped off to places like India.
  • whilst on holiday my wife`s scooter developed a fault on the speed control, being an electrician in former life I new if I could get the part I could fix it, I contacted a mobility firm and aqsked if they could supply the part, as I had no reply in about a week and a half, I went on Ebay and found the part, it was sold in pairs and came from China Ipaid the grand sum of £3 on our return home we had an Email from the mobility firm saying he copuld supply the part(which I had just bought for £1.50) for £59.00p + £3.95p P+P.
NOW THATS A RIP OFF, i`M NOT ALLOWED TO PRINT THE NAME, I DONT THINK
ps THE PART TOOK 10MINS TO FIT AND WORKS PERFECTLY.
