When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Today I will:
Have a good day everyone, good luck to those with job interviews:D and hugs for anyone feeling low.
catch you later:D

Morning Sophiesmum - oh I do hope I didn't give you the lurgy, I'd feel very guilty if it was me
:o:o
I had the dreaded "lie down"cough last night, you know the one....everytime you doze off you start an air gasping cough that leaves tears running down your face and a throat like sandpaper. I spent what seemed like most the night arranging pillows to be able to sleep on a steep incline (I couldn't)
Well, the car's gone to the garage, so certainly not a no spend today. In fact, I think the credit card will have gone up next month, rather than down, which is very depressing!
Today I have/will- stay at home and do housework
- wear pink and purple socks
- do washing at 30
- see how long I can avoid putting the heating on for - it hasn't gone on yet, but there's a frost out there today
- make an apple crumble
- continue with finances and see if I can find some extra somewhere
- find a better deal on my contents insurance

Morning All :hello:
I do hope you start to feel better soon. Money saving takes energy, it's much harder when you're feeling below par. Frosty here too, I thought of Popeye who does a few lengths of his pool when he gets home from work each night, as I scraped the ice off the car this morning :rotfl: :rotfl:
Well today I have/will- got a piggy click :rotfl: at this rate I'll qualify for my next voucher in 2010.
- Brought in lunch, despite standing at the kitchen counter begging myself to be allowed to have a takeaway today.
(It's OK, I didn't let myself
) - Money is going to be REALLY tight next month, so I'll go through my spreadsheets tonight and see where I can squeeze some more. (Payday Friday)
- list stuff on e-bay, if I time it right, Popeye will have to pack them up when he's home next week

- LSD, rehearsal tonight, 20p for my coffee

- washing is currently line drying.

Morning all
Feeling a bit under the weather this morning too, will be glad when it's time to go home today.
DFW things to do today:
• Check online banking
• Post a book sold on Amazon yesterday - my first sale!:j
• Pay in £20 to reduce overdraft to £7 this month (was aiming for not going overdrawn but it didn't quite go to plan. Nearly there though...)
• Brought breakfast and lunch to work
• Got chicken out of freezer for no spend dinner
• Do budget sheet for next month
• Wait (impatiently) 2 more days 'til payday!
Think that's my lot today.
Have a great day everyone xx0 -

Had chinese last night (ahem) so wasnt a NSD, whoops - is our cupboards bursting at seems with food um yes whoops
College asked me if I can take an 'isles' student potentially for 20weeks - he is 16 will come in Sunday night and leave friday t time to go home - those of you with lodgers - how disruptive is it????
Deal would be 23 a night - for B and B - but he wants evening meal too - not sure how to add that bit on (?any ideas?) and he will go home every weekend - seemingly a nice quiet lad?? Any experience you guys - we have two spare rooms (one down stairs one up)
Its incredibly tempting - are lodgers a not too invasive route to extra cash??Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
:money:Sleeves up folks.:money:0 -
So far I've filed some of my financial letters and things from yesterday (to the FOS, the OFT, and Sainsburys);
Need to get in touch with BT to amend the date of my direct debits (I get paid on the 15th and they always take it off on the 14th - sometimes there's not enough money there
);
Will enter some comps later.Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0
