Free carer to the cinema

I applied for a CEA card for my 14 year old son and was surprised that there is no minimum age limit for the carer which is great because he can go with his friend or brothers/sister giving me a couple of hours break. We went as a family using 2 Orange Wednesday vouchers and his card which meant the 6 of us went in for the price of 3, an evening we otherwise wouldn't have been able to afford.0

I think most cinemas give free tickets to carers. Not all give out discounts for disabled people as this might considered as positive discrimination.
As someone who works behind the counter, I don't always require to see a CEA card or similar, if I can clearly see that the other person will need help with his wheelchair etc, but the card does help, for the reason LazyDaisy stated. In Scotland (at least, don't know if they exist south of the border), the C+1 card (even a Young Scot card with this logo) will act as a proof for a carer ticket too.0 -
what a great find thank you.0

Sent off for mine 2 weeks ago and the 5.50 has been withdrawn so shouldnt be too long in arriving.
Just out of interest how have you found out about this as the website still shows the charge. I don't go to the cinema very often so was going to wait o renew my card next time something I'd like to see is on (probably harry potter in the summer!). if it is free to renew. Ill do it now.0 -

I don't think Nelly was saying it was free to renew, I think she meant the money had been withdrawn from her account, not that the charge had been withdrawn.I've given up trying to get my signature to work with the new rules, if nobody knows what the rules are what hope do we have?0 -
