Free carer to the cinema

People getting DLA can take a carer to the cinema for free with a Cinema Exhinitors' Association Card. Card lasts for 3 years and costs 5.50. All you have to do is send a copy of your Dla award and a photo. I have been getting disability fir years and only just found out about this so I am sure others will benefit. Go to www.ceacard.co.uk for more info.

this works in conjunction with the unlimited offer at cineworld cinemas too so if you and your partner go more than 2 times a month its worth getting an unlimited card to go with your cea card0

Great find, thank you! I will pass this on to my Mum :beer:0

Hi Jack, you can call The Benefit Enquiry Line free on 0800 88 22 00 and ask for an application pack to be sent out to you.0

Sent off for mine 2 weeks ago and the 5.50 has been withdrawn so shouldnt be too long in arriving.0

Thanks so much for the info, both my father and myself are disabled so it will make a differnce to us both and frinds and family.0

If you don't have a CEA card, it is still worth enquiring at your local cinema if they give concessions for disabled people and/or their carer (having said that, the CEA card can be useful if you have a disability that isn't immediately obvious to the casual observer, as it saves explaining, or feeling the need to justify your request)
It is also worth phoning your local theatres as although most do give concessions, they don't always publicise this.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
We asked at our local Vue cinema and they were happy to let a carer go in for free as long as we signed a form they had. No other proof was needed.0

You can get a form either at your local job center plus, or online i think the
web site address is www.direct.gov.uk and type in DLA in the search box at the top right hand side and it will bring you up a few options one is rates and how to claim .
I hope this helps you
Kindest Regards
