The T&Cs for this account mention that this is a joint venture between Tesco and RBS. However, according to the "what counts as one institution" MSE page, Tesco & RBS are separate institutions. Is this actually correct for this account?0

I still have an 'instant access savings' account from a similar offer a couple of years ago. If I open an Internet Saver (i.e. a different type of account) should this offer still go through?0

I set up a savings account over a year ago, the first time they ran a promotion, and then closed it down.
Would I count as a new customer with regards to this promotion?
Many thanks0 -
From the Tesco leaflet: "The Clubcard points promo is restricted to new customers and to one account per person".
So from this I'd conclude if you already have any Tesco Personal Finance accounts you won't get the additional clubcard points.
If you are a tax payer and your wife not, only open it in your wife's name so she can receive gross interest. If it's joint, you'll not be eligible for gross interest as you pay tax.
thanks!
If I open in my Wife Name and as she is not a tesco TPF customer, she would be eligible for the CC points.
Apologies for asking an out of thread topic question, so can I give/transfer my savings into account of my wife and she would still not require to pay tax on the interest earned? Is there a similar thread discussing these options on MSE?0 -

Yes, covered on all the links previously posted.0 -
Also to note - Tesco Interest on our Internet Saver account is paid annually in March. I'm sticking with Kaupthing who pay monthly0

On privacy and credit scoring levels, in case anyone cares, you are giving them permission to acquire your Clubcard data (includes your personal spending habits etc).0

Im sure it stated that for Internet Savings Accounts the clubcard details will be used only for crediting CC points. I believe the cubcard data is only used for credit card applications.0 -

I'm with Joodle on this one and keen to know the answer to this. Technically a new customer as don't currently have an account, but might be classed as returning customer (only if their systems are up to date) and not qualify.
Don't want to go through effort of setting it up if not eligble.0 -
