TESCO account is excellent. Within days of opening I was able to make some deposits. Since getting my card reader about 6 weeks after opening account, I have made further deposits from savings I had elsewhere. Totally trouble free.

Why do some people open an account, presumably for the excellent interest rates, and then want to move it again.

Because it's such a difficult account to open, they are left with no faith in Tesco whatsoever

I agree though that, once's it's up and running, it's easy to operate.
    Wins since 2009 = £17,600

    MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS

I've just rang Tescos clubcard expecting my 3000 points in my February statement but they've said there is a delay on promotional points and I won't receive them until May.

Anyone else who opened the savings account in November got the same problem?

I think they make it up as they go along.

Early last year, when they ran a similar promotion, DS got his points when they said he would, mine were delayed, but I did get a letter to that effect. Once we had the points, we then closed the accounts.

In September, DS, OH and I all opened accounts, and we all got our points with the February mailing. Have moved the bulk of the money to the Halifax Guaranteed Saver as this is paying 6.25%, but have left something available in the Tesco accounts, as this is paying 4% (inc 1.5%) as this has instant access.

3000 points? AFAIK if you put 50K+ in you get the max of 2000 points not 3000...

We opened an account in Oct, had the required balance in Nov and the points appeared on till receipts a couple of months later, had the vouchers a few weeks ago in the post.

Both I and OH got our points added in this statement - managed to get total of just over 7000 points this quarter (well, 1500 each for savings accounts)!!!!

I am still waiting for the pin. As for people moving money remember it is an istant access account. I put my long term savings in things like bonds and my short term savings in things like Tesco and take out the money when I need it.
  • Hi there, have just registered so that I can join in this thread.

I received my clubcard vouchers today, with no added points for my internet account which I opened last year. Will ring them up when I can find the energy.
BUT.... what I did do was saved Martin's page outlining the terms of the Tesco deal. Here is the link, hope it is of some use to anyone who is being told a load of rubbish by the Tesco helpline.

I got my pin today and I changed it so I know that part works. I have not transferred any money yet.
