  • Hi Rylynn,

Just to say - this looks fine to me! You're a bit near the £99 surplus - could you maybe get away with adding £20 to petrol / travel and another £20 to holidays? Just in case the OR tries to get you on an IPA! He can always say no!:D

Hope all goes well tomorrow - be thinking of you.;) CBx

    Hi Rylynn,
Perhaps up the haircut figure by £5? At 5' 7'' most hairdressers would blanch at the idea of a childs' special price for your son. CB's right about the petrol. They can only knock it down again. Do you need dry-cleaning for work? (Not you yourself - your clothes, I mean!)

I thought that the Child benefit was taken OFF this which would leave a surplus of £5 or am I going totally nuts now. Just realised I need to use capitals on the online forms, or I assume I bloody have to, so had to redo a load of it, still ploughing thru changing creditors and addresses to caps...

Please tell me if I am wrong on this over the CB as I deducted 82 off and came up with 5.. mind you I cant count!

Have to say on the online forms all the CB, Tax credits and also maitenance has to go in one lump sum, so fully intend breaking that down on a seperate sheet so the OR knows that the 82 is included in that top figure...

  • This is where the OR,s guide for one adult and two kids gets silly, if you go by that you are way over, dont ask me why:confused:

But a 14 year old is as good as an adult, hopefully your OR will allow for that and base your IPA calculation on that, if so your pretty close to the guide for two adults, so should be ok even if you get a jobsworth ;) , if not im sure you will fight your corner on that one

Im assuming Child Allowance 82 is CB? remember thats not counted, so there is some room for reduction if so

By the way i would put 30-40 for holidays, as it states 60-80 for four in the manual;)

  • 31.7.9 State benefits

    April 2008
The only exception to the inclusion of state benefits in an income payments calculation is where a bankrupt is in receipt of child benefit, which is not an income based benefit (unlike child tax credit, see above). The High Court has stated as a matter of public policy that child benefit should not be included in the statement of income when applying for an IPO and there is no reason why the same principle should not be extended to cover IPAs.

    Just for reasurance:D

Okay have altered the wording to child benefit, sorry for confusion.

BAAB, I pay for all the food including my mums, I pay all the bills, so is it only the clothes you think is too high, if I up the holiday wont I be in a negative??? this is so very stressful, my son just got it in the neck from me for asking for a drink, told him he has legs!! oh dear...

The money your Mum provides - is this provable, as in she pays it into your account so the OR can see it? Any chance of reducing her contribution to £100?? Afterall, she still has her own bills to pay on meagre OAP pension.....
  • dont confuse disregarding CB for IPA and disregarding it from your I&E

You include it in your I&E and rely on it to live, but the OR cant use it in an IPA calculation, if that means a negative for that, that is fine, as long as your I&E shows you can manage after BR
