Ive split with my Ex

i wonder if anyone can help,
i split with my partner two years ago amicably and have been trying to come off the mortgage ever since, she doesnt have the buying power to take a mortgage in her own name as her salary makes her fall sort of what is currently outstanding on the mortgage,
our mortgage company say she cannot have it in her soely her name and all we can do is sell the house?
she has looked at other companies who all say same sort of thing, she doesnt have the affordabilty to take a mortgage of the reuqired size?
surely there must be something we can do to get my name off it?
they are saying all she can do is sell the house?
is it always this drastic when two people seperate?
its not like i want money out of the house? i just simply want my name off the mortgage?

Unfortunately it sounds like the mortgage companies are feeling that she's not a safe enough bet on her own. Whilst you are still on the mortgage it means if she can't pay they'll come knocking on your door. Unless she can get someone else on the mortgage like maybe a parent then for you to come off the mortgage deeds you will have to sell the property.
