Just to say that I've eventually bitten the bullet and applied to redeem my endowment policy. I've faffed on for a year:o, but I sent everything away today. That will be £9,500 off my mortgage, just as soon as I receive it, plus I'll up my OP by £60:D. Now just to work out my MFD. Quite excited by this.:rotfl:Sad I know.

Received a statement on our mortgage and now owe just over £50,000, so excited. Am still waiting for the endowment to cough up, but have cancelled the direct debit and added it to my OP. Just as well I cancelled the DD, as even though I've requested it to be redeemed, they tried to take the money. Does anyone know how long it takes for the money to come through, when you redeem an endowment policy?

:jHurray:jI've just received notice to say that they are paying me £9,555 by BACS this week. I can't wait to pay it off my mortgage, that will take it down to £40,752.23, then on 1st Dec my next payment goes through and that should take it below £40,000, how exciting is that! Now to work out that pesky MFD.

I rang for a balance this morning and it's down to £40,645.35, so less than £7 adrift of my calculations (or should I say Financial Bliss':A). Decembers overpayment hasn't gone through yet, but I think it'll take it down to £40,148.68, so not quite the 30's but definately going in the right direction :D. Thank you for all the support. I have now fully got OH on side. I think that our new MFD will be the start of Oct 2014, six years early:jwhile we're still in our 40's. Plus I've discovered that they do online banking with our new mortgage so I'll be checking it regularly.:rotfl:

You do realise you are doomed if you start that :D. Can you pay online as well? If so, I can see lots of little £2.58 transfers etc 'just to round the figures off' :rotfl:
