The ATM DIDNT GIVE ME MY MONEY!!!

I recently had an attempted withdrawl which didn;t give me any money. This first time I tried the machine sat there for ages not doing anything, and then beeped and a message came up saying something like "money not retrieved in time". I then stuck the card in again, but this time it came up with another error and spat the card straight back out.
Went into the supermarket and tried to tell them that both machines were out of order (the other one had a piece of paper stuck on it to say that it wasn't working!) but they didn't seem to understand...
Later that evening I checked my online banking and realised that the money had still gone out of my account. Called my bank (Halifax) who said that there were atually two transactions, one of which had been re-credited. Took about a month, but the money eventually got back into my account, and I didn't have to fill in any forms for it. I guess I was lucky that the ATM knew it was my card that hadn't worked!0 -

The reasoning I was using was that although I know RBS own the machine, I do feel that Tesco should have offered me some assistance. They didn't even make a note of it, offer to phone RBS or get me the number. Very poor customer service overall I thought.
I have twice filled in the dispute forms with Lloyds but RBS keep refusing my claim without giving any reason. Lloyds now won't take it any further. I popped into the RBS branch for advice and they told me to go back to Lloyds.
My problem seems to be if the machine then gave my money to someone else. Lloyds tell me this is impossible. If it is, then my money should have still been in the machine!!!
It isnt anything to do with Tescos whether you think they should shoulder some responsibility or not.
The dispute form that you filled in will have alerted them to the problem so that they could check that machine....which they have, twice.
The reason why you are not getting anywhere is because they obviously have found a correct balance sheet for that machine. So....if the machine is NOT up by £90 then it is all in order.
I find it strange that you didnt get a £10 note OR a £20 note.0 -
Hi Just wondered if there was any update on this thread, last response was end Jan! What was the outcome Did u ever get the money back or is this still in dispute? From looking at other blogs seems to happen to quite a lot of people & in a number of cases Bank just refusing to give money back! How can this be right if u have used your card correctly & the machine has run out of money... Please update if you r still checking this blog...0
