My account has been hijacked

Can anyone advise me please. My account has been hijacked, my contact email and password have been changed and some ************ is happily selling fishing rods from Hong Kong on my account. I am sooooo angry, have emailed ebay but as yet nada!!
Any advice much appreciated

Do as Jaffa says and contact the livehelp asap. My account was hijacked a couple of weeks ago, but Ebay picked up on it immediately as they had listed two very expensive cars !

Change your Ebay password immediately to something obscure that no-one can guess. Also, check your Paypal account and if necessary change your password on there. (Make sure you do both within the respective systems and check for the secure padlock at the bottom of the screen).

Hope you get it sorted soon.

I don't use it myself but you might want to ask some of the other regulars on here about the ebay taskbar. Apparently if you have that installed it will warn you if you get a phishing mail which might stop this hijacking happening again as following links from a spam mail is the most likely way the scammers get your info.

Alternatively you might have been hacked by a colleague or someone, this happened to someone i knew, they always used passwords associated with a certain item so for someone with a lot of time that knew them it just took a few days and some patience to hack the account. The third scenario is using a borrowed or public PC and not logging out correctly, so keep an eye on your security and be very very aware that there are people out there who will try and get into your account if you don't pay 100% attention to your security at all times.

I think it is about time that eBay/PayPal introduced a "Sin Bin" for wrong log ins. I.E. 3 tries and you are out for 24 hours or so, it would stop any bots or similar trying to force your account. Or am I (typically) behind the times on this one?
