Hi Martin
To me you are a person whose opinion I respect when it comes to financial issues and whilst it is entirely up to you what you do it seems to me that any appearance which raises your profile without damaging your reputation is a good thing.0 -

My personal feeling is that you probably shouldn't do the extra work as it could potentially damange your reputation, and once you're on the slippery slope of telly, how long would it be before you being asked to fill in Carol Vorderman's old spot? (Countdown rather than Firstplus) :-)
Stick with what you know and are good at - I can't see there being any shortage of work for you for the next few years.

once a year maybe a who wants to be a millionaire type of program or have i got news for you, something a little bit intellectual,
i'd just say make sure you from the start have a list of what you will and wont do, e.g. nothing which relies on people voting for you via premium rate numbers, 1 show every 8 months max, something which will allow you to promote your causes
should put a stop to the slippery slope aspectYes Your Dukeiness0 -
Oh no not more reallity TV
Please don't do it Martin. It would be more interesting if you had a show that uses the best tips from the forums especially Old StyleBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Martin you are one of the few people I watch on TV that I actually like and trust. I would hate for you to compromise your integrity by doing things that would cheapen your message. As others have said, something for charity possibly I would be happy with.
That being said Martin, its your life and nobody can tell you what to do or how to live. If its something you feel you need to do I would understand as I am sure many other people would. However if it is something you are really not sure of and are canvassing opinions I say no. As I say you are one of the few people in the public eye that is really making a difference for people and I feel that if you tried something different no matter what the good intentions it would take away from your current work.0 -
How about a stint as the banker on 'Deal or No Deal', although you would probably offer everyone a very good deal!
Also, 'Hole in the Wall' is only very loosely related to money. Geddit?!
I'll get my coat...0 -
Have you had a day off lately Martin?
(is my maternal side showing?)Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!0 -
I have to say I thought the same thing, do you actually have a spare hour in the day to do extra tv?
You work incredibly hard and you don't want to spread yourself too thin because you'll become more prone to getting bugs and stuff!
Eeek my maternal nature kicked in too.
Having said that, the odd ad hoc thing wouldn't be a bad thing...only the classy ones of course....Competition wins -

I don't think the timing is right for Martin to start appearing on unrelated programming - things are going to be tough for many people in the next while and I think since Martin coined himself as the Money Saving Expert, the go to man for different news outlets, I think it would be best to stay on message.0
