what do i need to claim do i need reports from my gp or doctor? my doctor is a specialist and it takes around 5 months to get an apoinment unless its an emergency im sure my gp will be happy to do a report but isit a must or do you just fill in some forms?
does anyone on here get dla for just been unable to walk due to leg pain?
sounds to me like you would qualify for dla mobility possibly at the higher rate,or maybe the lower rate, just get the forms and fill them in,with help if possible from cab or welfare rights, you give the details of your gp on the form and the dla people will contact him/her although its a good idea to go and see the gp once youve sent in the forms and make sure he`s aware that 1)youve applied and 2)exactly what your mobility problems are
you may also have care needs that arise from your problems thats where a good advisor would be of most help, its also worth doing some research on dla on the internet, and when youve completed the forms take a photo copy of them before sending them back by recorded delivery0 -

one thing i have read a few times regarding care is that evern if your not currently getting care doing ceartain things and you are just managing on your own you are still entiled to care because having help with thoose activites would make it easyer for you is this true?
for example i dont get any help using the toilet its something too personal i would rarther strugle on my own than get help doing! for me i can not just sit straight down i have to hold onto something with my arms to east me down if you know what i mean with the toilet i have lean my hand on the wall and easy my self down. is that something worthy of care? i dont have a hand rail by the toilet can they use this against me and sayi should have one fitted and that would solve my problem?
Its perfectly true to say that you only have to need the care not actually be getting it(if the opposite were true anyone living alone would never qualify)
As for aids/adaptations they ask on the form what you have i.e. a walking stick etc but having something that helps wont stop you getting dla and they cant force you to have or do anything0
