sound from units

Hello, may be a dumb question but here we go
Have Sky Box/ Xbox/ dvd player want to know if its possible to buy a splitter so the audio leads from each unit can then go into splitter and then into back of surround sound speaker instead of haveing to change wires for each unit when wanting to use

hope it make's sense

thanks:T

Yes, but it WILL degrade sound to a degree ~ depends if your bothered or not really

  • thanks, so the phono from my sound base gos into the output of the unit?
  • the device pictured takes 3 phono inputs, and 1 phono output. you would need phono leads from each device, and a set to the tv

    Youve confused me now!
Can you explain clearly what is plugged into what? And what you LISTEN through?
You have a SURROUND SOUND AMP? (AV amp is the correct term)

If you have a half decent av amp. You should be able to connect the XBOX via an optical lead. DVD via optical or co-axial digital cable and SKY via optical lead. This is for the best quality for all. Do you mean an optical splitter?

  • ok

sky plus into dvd player- dvd player into tv.= audio from dvd into subwoofer audio line in

x box in to hdmi of tv.

at mo if i want audio thru surround speakers- with xbox or the wii have to unplug audio lead and put in audio lead from xbo or the wii

is there somethig i can run audio lead from each appliance that then leads into surround sound box .
so dont have to take out/ put in leads to have all running:confused:

    still not entirely sure.
An AUDIO lead could be ~ PHONO (Normal analogue), OPTICAL (digital), DIGITAL CO AX (Looks just like a phono except its specifically for digital)

What connections does the amp have? And how many of each? (If your unsure, send me the make and MODEL of it and ill see if I can pull it up off the net)

  • thanks, just phono leads and 1 input on surround sound box for phono
