Who is going to the ACE Club meeting? I'm going to Hatfield.
:jI'm going to Hatfield too!
Had a brilliant day Wednesday, I got to meet Marion Firth, it was so good to talk to someone who's been doing it for a while and it's made me even more determined to get to Unit Leader now!:j0 -
That's fab. Marion's lovely isn't she? She comes down and visits me and always has words of wisdom!!
The new card bit has been explained to me so I can now understand why they've changed it but I still don't like it.Murphy's No More Pies Club Member No. 680 -
I think Marion is one of the nicest people from P/L you could ever meet. I love it because she is so down to earth and practical, and full of really helpful ideas that aren't un-realstic.
I'm a bit gutted today , I decided not to go for executive club last month because of the low sales that the team had in january because of the weather , only to find that they are now discounting Jan figures, so have now got to do 3 months now to get back into executive club. ( I was so close this month and I could have easily made up the extra )0 -
After a good start, my bookings are starting to fizzle out. My friends have held parties and I have managed to get parties for friends of friends but after that no-one is interested. I have been trying to work with my hostesses and trying to generate interest at parties but with little luck. I think the problem is I have had a lot of guests who are either new to partylite or use it rarely and aren't interested in holding parties.:(
Does anyone have any advice? I have a few leads I can chase up but my last booking is for May and thats me. I know it does take awhile to build up a customer base and I am in this for the long haul but if theres anything I can try I will. I have the conference to pay for after all!:j
Many thanks

What you need to get off the ground maddie is a constant supply of people interested in having parties from outside that group and circle . We get ours by doing loads of stalls and events at schools, pamper evenings , ladies shopping events , country fairs, anything where P/L will fit in . Have your kit on display , sell tealights wrapped in cellophane , and get them to enter a free prize draw by filling out a questionarre survey .On this survey it asks them if they would consider having a party in the future ( if they tick the box , this is a lead ) . It's important to get chatting to people who express an interest , build up a rapport ( don't come accross as pushy or despirate , and never tell them you business is quiet , tell them you are snowed under with bookings and can't keep up) Take time one evening and go through your leads and give them a ring ( because you don't want them to miss out on the opportunity to get some free candles and and as you are so busy you might not fit them in otherwise...right?). Get chatting to them and remind them of how you met and that you noticed that they ticked yes to being interested in having a party in the future .
Some will say no , most will say not now , but ring me in the future and specify a month and some will say yes they want to book one now . Just keeping ringing the not nows when they said they might want one . Many of the not nows will be converted to yes's at a later date .
It is hard work but the more events you do , the more it pays off . You may not think at the time that you have go anything out of an event , but sometimes up to a year down the line , you may still get bookings from that event . It's a key way you get to meet more customers and hostess's , infact I don't think our business would have got off the ground without doing them
. Once you have a large number of hostess's , eventually you get to the stage where you get phone orders etc , but nearlly always you have to do the ground work . The more people you meet the bigger and faster your team grows , and so will your business. It's not easy and can be a constant roller coaster ( esp when you get loads of bookings and sales at one party then come home to find someones left a message cancelling a party) , but eventually it does pay off. Check out websites in your local area for events , typically school fetes and pamper evenings are a good events to get started with because you will meet many mums, some of whom may be intersted in earning a bit of extra money, costs for a stall are usually around £10 with a small prize donated to the raffle . Just look at it that you are paying £10 to get some leads . If you get just one booking it can lead you on to loads of parties and valuable customers
Why not take this chance to evaluate where you are at and set yourself a small goal to head towards and achieve?
Hope this helps Maddie and good luck!!0 -
