Hi all again
I am looking for some advice - again. I signed up for Partylite after a colleague and I have found out my colleague has already gone round with catalogues to all the depts where we work including my old department as someone let me know after they got my party invitation.
I am afraid my colleague has pipped me to the post (and I am quite annoyed she has done all this in work time secretly where I have been upfront). What can I do?Any ideas to drum up trade?
thanks

This thread is all about helping each ther and giving advice - so pls feel free to ask away!
Maddie - you will need to then try and get into others areas, try all your other friends, family, neighbours etc - all it takes is one new area to branch into other new areas.
Go through your guest list and write down each and every name and keep adding to it, also ask every single person if they know of anyone!
Hope this helps you!I get paid to party!:rotfl:0 -

Ooh it drives me mad that my stuff is always delivered after I have left for work in the evening. It used to come earlier but just lately it doesn't turn up until after 6!
What's even more annoying is that I was out in my car at around 2pm today and I saw the UPS van with the usual driver on my way home literally 5 minutes away from my house.
Phew, thanks guys just wanted to sound off LOL:rotfl:Lightbulb moment: 14 May 2008Debt free date: April 2014DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 188Nightowl Member No 160 -

Sorry to hear this ,that must be so annoying , Our UPS man always delivers in the morning round our way , fortunately we have an arrangement that he leaves the boxes in the porch if we aren't in . Most of the time we around during the day , so other members of the team who work during the day have it delivered to our house then collect it from us . That way we see them more often and catch up with them , also they like to use this time to chat about how things are going and we can Iron out any problems they might have . I wonder if you can arrange a different delivery time 6ish does seem rather late to me.0 -

Some of our best customers come from business stalls . Many of the large companies like insurance , banking offices , where they have a large workforce will invite people to come and do stalls , usually next to the coffee shop . We have set up a stalls at places like C and G , Zurich insurance , Local hospital etc , all on a regular basis . We have to give 10% of any orders or sales to the company charity . This is definately worth doing . Find out all the big companies near you and ring and ask to speak to the person responsible for organising charity events . You may get some "no's" , but also you do get some that will be happy to have you there . Once you get into a business it is unlikely that they will have someone selling the same thing , There you have it , a steady supply of customers all day , especially during the lunch hour . You can then build up a portfolio of regular customers who will re-order through you.
Another Idea which works well is to contact local small business's such as hairdressers , aromatherapists, interior designers , beauty therapists, hotels etc , etc and ask them if you can set up a display . Leave some order forms , scent stackers and business cards (get them printed cheaply from vistaprint) . Go back a week later and collect any orders . Give the monthly hostess commision to the business owner. We did a really successful display using coconut milk choc ( before P/L stopped it) . We contacted a hotel that specialised in chocolate weekend breaks as themed weekends . We wrote a letter and sent some free samples , and arranged for a display . We got orders for about 12 reed diffusers and loads of candles and they would contact us for more orders when they ran out ( we were gutted when P/L stopped selling chocolate candles lol)0 -
